    to resolve this:

    - restore firmware to v1.1.1 via iTunes/Restore

    - phone was stuck in DFU mode, use iBrickr v.91 to get it out of DFU mode

    - jailbreak the phone using jailbreakme.com... leave your iTunes and iPhone connected or the TIFF exploit may not work properly.

    - installed the 'Virginiser' pack from i.unlock.no via 'Installer', this will downgrade the baseband to 03.18xxx.

    - restore firmware v1.1.1 via iTunes to get the matching baseband (04.01.13_G)

    - if phone is stuck in DFU mode, use iBrickr v.91 to get it out of DFU mode

    - jailbreak the phone using jailbreakme.com... leave your iTunes and iPhone connected or the TIFF exploit may not work properly.

    - install anySIM 1.1 and unlock the phone and if you plan on staying with v1.1.1 you'll need to run some tools to unlock YouTube etc...

if you want to move to v1.1.2:
    - install/run OkToPrep via Installer

    - Make sure the phone is set to Never for 'Auto-Lock'

    - Update to v1.1.2 via iTunes... be sure to leave your phone connected to iTunes

    - Jailbreak using Dev's v1.1.2 Jailbreak... requires Java, on windows... run the batch file. You may choose the 'Install SSH' option if desired, otherwise you can install it via 'Installer'.

    - Install BSD Subsystem

    - Install AnySim 1.2.1u

    - Put the iPhone in 'Airplane Mode' before executing AnySim 1.2.1u

    - After the unlock is complete, disable 'Airplane Mode' to get your signal back.

    - v1.1.2 has a problem with foreign SIMS... install 'iWorld' and select the appropriate SIM Country of Origin...

This worked for me... I found out the hard way!

    thanks!

I had the same issue. I could downgrade to 1.1.2 and then to 1.1.1

is the error immediately after you select the appropriate firmware file or does it attempt to flash/upgrade the iPhone and then display the error message?

    thanks!

    Lightbulb same prob

I've got the same problem with the error (1).

I have read though that you need to be in the correct recovery mode with the black screen and not with the iPhone’s screen turned back on and you see cable pointing to an iTunes logo.

I havent tried the other way yet, but will this afternoon.

    get into recovery mode
    recover to 1.1.3
    get into recovery mode,
use ibrickr (I'm assuming you have windows.. sorry)
click restore 1.0.2 within ibrickr. follow directions
in my case this failed, but after the failure, error 1 stopped appearing and I was able to restore to 1.1.1 at which point I had to downgrade modem firmware (i.unlock.no repeatedly failed) manually using the method on this page: http://george.zjlotto.com/index.php/...pack-040313_g/
    and restore 1.1.1 again.
