Sorry to start a new thread.. i have looked everywhere in this form But didnt find any ans that would help...

I bought a iPhone as a Valentine gift for my GF........ the phone is 1.1.2 OTB (week 46), Bootloader 4.6 (i guess), Model MA712LL, Modem firmware 04.03.13_G it was already jail broken and upgraded to 1.1.3 (4A93) by the guy who sold it to me.. initially everything was working fine EXCEPT that i had to enter PW for Wi-fi everytime i connected....

After reading several posts suggesting to "reset network settings" I reset the settings & now i cant connect to Wifi... when i enter the PW in the settings it shows a check mark infront of my router... BUT I dont see wifi icon on the top task bar... also theres no IP address when i check the advance settings...

I have reset the network setting few times, turned on & off the wifi & airplane mode & tried Hard reset.... NO Luck... I have also tried the "reset all setting" and "erase all content and settings" options as well and still it wont connect...

Can someone Plz help.... Thnx in advance...

PS- my other iPhone and notebook connects fine to the router and works fine.......

you may have to restore it to 1.1.3....then downgrade 1.1.1 update to 1.1.2 and then unlock
try iclarified's method in doing this..it'll tell you how to do all of this- worked for me

Thnx msen612... i was kindda afraid it would come down to Restoring the phone.. is there no other option... iam just a lil hesitant because i see quite a few ppl having issues with their iphones after they tried to unlock the 1.1.3 phones...

any other suggestions???

I'd suggest you play with your wifi a bit more - you can see your router that means your wi-fi is not greyed out so there is no need to restore etc. - what's your top option in the wifi settings? DHCP, Static, anything else? is your router working well, do you have any other wifi device to check it?

Same problem here.. the router is working fine, but the phone can't use it.

same problem, WiFi is enabled but it doesnt detect any network...

My iPhone (week 46) had the same issue with WiFi, it was NOT Grayed, but i could not connect to my WiFi ..... (in advanced settings i had no IP's etc.) .....

My solution was simple.... UPGRADED to 1.1.3 wia iTunes, got newest baseband, then downloaded ziphone, and do the rest in less than 5 min....

On Windows
Start run
then enter CMD
you will get dos screen
Select the path where you have kept the ziphone files (eg C:\ZIPHONE)

type iphone.exe -j -a

to unlock

type iphone.exe -u

And there you have it ....

Now, i'm not saying this is the best solution, but it works

Hi rchik.. The wifi is NOT grayed out & the phone picks ups all teh wifi networks in my area... when i enter my Pw for my network... theres a check infront of the connection BUT it doesnt show the wifi icon on the top bar & there is NO IP info in DHCP, Static, and Bootp settings... when i try to use safari it gives me "cant find server" error..

i have another iphone and 2 laptops that connects fine to the router... so i know its not the router....

Quick Question.... Has anyone tried the ziphone method??? it seems pretty sweet & super easy.... but i have never read about it on the form here.... anyone else had any experience with it???
