Did I just brick this phone?

Took a otb 1.1.2 phone and tried to jailbreak it using some of the tutorials on the forums, so I could at least use my phone as a touch model.

Now itunes 7.4.5 won't restore it to a working state. I just get error 1604 and I am returned to the maintenance mode screen. Do I need to revirginize back to 1.1.2?

Argh!

Nevermind.. unlocked! Can't wait for anysim 1.1.2!

what bootloader do u have?

Can you tell us what version of bootloader you have, and how did you do it? (Unlock it)

dnt worri the error is normal, all u need to do is run apptap then just restore it with any of thier ver then it should b fine...once u done it, u should have a itouch hehe...should b ver 1.1.1 i fink...

Here's what I did to get it unlocked. Not anysim! Just unlocking the phone so I can use it as a touch:

Essentially, I downloaded the latest Itunes, found a copy of the 1.1.1 restore software from apple named: iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw

I have a dual boot Hackintosh OSX86 and WinXP machine. Held down shift on my PC when hitting the restore button in itunes. Dialog pops up, and I select the above restore.ipsw ..waited..
Phone actually crashed and wouldn't restart!
Panicked..
Reset phone by holding down power and home button.. several several times..
Did the restore process above again! managed to get to the 1.1.1. screen..
got into safari.. entered jailbreakme.com as a new contact..
and that's really it...

Argh! Update.. I now have the 300 mb size error. Gonna try 1.1.2 update then unlock..

ull be able to jailbreak it but not unlock it....i hope u know that...at least not yet hoopefully soon tho

is there anyway to activate a 1.1.2 otb so i can use it with att
