Default [1.1.2 OTB] Will geogots method fix accidental upgrade with itunes?

I had a 1.1.2 OTB hactivated and jailbroken, UK iphone which i accidentally 'restored' in itunes, wiping everything. After that, no matter what i did, it just said invalid sim. The bootloader had been upgraded to 4.6 and i was told i had to wait for the 1.1.4 firmware. Will geohots method fix my problem? If it does, whats the best guide to use??

Thanks and sorry if this is already been answered - just not to sure what i'd search for in the search to get my answer.

I got annoyed last night because i did something wrong last night trying to sort it out and my pc wouldnt restart because of it so i just yanked out the power cable. Its now dead and starts after about 30 mins of waiting at the hp logo screen. When it does start, my iphone doesnt even detect its connected to a pc like it did before. I think i may just give all my gadgets away to charity and go back to the stone age.
