How do you know? Who's the source?

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

There's always options for you guys. No ones putting a gun to your head and telling you to wait for software unlock. You got to remember that Dev team and others are just working for free and they only work on the software in their spare time they got. Be patient and wait for an SW unlock or just HW or SIM unlock it. SIMPLE. or better yet you can use it as ITOUCH.

Thanks to those who are working hard for the Unlock & Jailbreak methods.

OK, I belive I can help you out. I was just like you a week before today, reading this forum daily, waiting for a software unlock solution. Had my iphone week 44 (but not unlockable, damn luck) for 45 days and was so anxious to use it as a phone I even consider opening it.
Now, I really didn’t wanted to buy a sim solution because I thought I wouldn’t find one here (Argentina) and because I didn’t wanted to spend more money on this device than what I had already did. Besides I thought maybe, just maybe, after I bought it, magicly the software unlock would be done making that inversion silly.
Nevertheless, last week I got too fed up to take it anymore so I decided to look for a sim in ebay (“deremate” actually, just the same) I found a Next Sim, last generation, for 100 dollars, which is very expensive here, but got carried away with the idea of not waiting anymore so I bought it anyway.
Finally, after I did it, I went to pick it on that same day. As I already had a jailbroken, activated phone, I only had to cut the tip of my sim and put the Nextsim together with mine in the phone. Sudenlly, I had signal and recived a phone call in that precise moment (wich was kind of nice)
What I want to say: I thought all those exact same things you are all thinking, you locked phones owners, but now, a week later I don’t regret at all that I bought the sim soluton, actually, I am VERY GLAD I did. Even if the solution for a software unlock poped out of the blue tomorrow, I`d still hold on to my new sim. Besides it supports 1.1.3. After all, I would have spent that money in alcohol anyways or many other non usefull things.
So if you still didn’t get my point IŽll say it crystal clear: BUY A NEXT SIM, I SWEAR YOU WONT REGRET IT.
Just think about it, this is my first visit to the forum in 7 days, 7 days! No more daily visits and stress. I didn’t wanted to spend 100 dollars more on the phone but now I don’t give a damn if they release the software solution tomorrow, it was worth it, even for a week only.
And last… the promise of a software unlock was the one that kept me from buying the sim but open your eyes, there wont be a software unlock for a LONG LONG TIME.
That being said, do as you please (stop being an ass and buy the sim solution already! I still cant belive I waited for 45 days to make my mind, am I an idiot or what?! Jajaja)

I have to say that i was in the exact same situation. Now i have been using ***sim for 2 days, and i couldn't be more happy with the *simsolution.

The person I bought the *simcard from said that unlocking 1.1.2 OTB wasn't probibly the highest priority because of the huge profit sellers gains on this card, and that the simsolution is working well.

you guys are not realizing what's happening. At first the dev team receieved donations and worked on the software unlock. and then they found out that they can make even more money by getting kickbacks from the people who do the *sim. So they take the money and stopped working on unlock and only on jailbreak. Wake up, there will be no more software unlock for iphones, move on.
