    Default [1.1.2 OTB] upgraded to 1.1.3 need help with somethign before spending money

    Ok so I am buying a 1.1.2 OTB iphone however it has been upgraded to 1.1.3. I do not know if it had been jailbroken before it was upgraded or not. I want this phone so I can do the H/W unlock and I am wondering if my plan is screwed by it being upgraded to 1.1.3 if it were not jailbroken or w/e. Basically what I am saying is, am I buying a brick? and how exactly do I confirm what phone would be useless to me? Ie what do i check for (baseband, firmware, etc) that would let me know if I can or cannot go back to 1.1.2 and try the H/W unlock.

    Pretty easy...you are most likely buying a BRICK. You will not be able to even HW unlock it. It's easy to tell. Just turn the phone on. If it is jailbroken, you will be able to "Slide to unlock" and access iPod and other things. If you cant, then the phone was officially updated and is a brick.

    No you can't. You will have to wait for a new baseband version to get the secpack to erase the baseband that comes with 1.1.3.

    Also a 'brick' is not what you guys think it is. It is a phone that won't boot, not one that just currently can't be unlocked. A 1.1.3 phone is still a perfectly working iPhone.

    go back to the OP question.
    the phone can be opened, do the testpoint hardware to downgrade the BL from 4.6 to 3.9. ONce that is done, the baseband can be downgraded and proceed to unlock.....
    so it is not really a brick

    I thought you had the run ienew before you did test points. Which means the fact that hes trying to erase the 1.1.3 firmware with a 1.1.3 secpack will not work?

    @darkcloudy and freestyle,

    My bad.... I did not read the question carefully.
    darkcloudy is correct.
    I thought it was just a OTB 1.1.2 but in this case it's an OTB 1.1.2 + 1.1.3 upgrade.
