Exactly the same issue. Step 22, AppSnap gets installed and it goes back to the slide for emergency screen and then it goes black after about 1 minute.

I have tried lots of things and nothing. The iPhone in the craddle (connected via USB), iTunes on and iPhone detected, then dialed 0 Answer+Hold+Decline, went to jailbreakme.com again, installed AppSnapp again .... and stuck in the same loop... (done that 3 times so far)

PLEASE does anyone have any idea, please?

try to turn off your phone and then turn on while connected to itunes.

    this worked for me.

Thank you for your suggestion humbee2001.

But it didn't work. I turned off my iPhone (while on the cradle), turned it back on, dilaed *#307# plus 0+Answer+Hold+Decline, went to jailbreakme.com, installed AppSnap again, but I got the same result: BLACK SCREEN.

When I pressed the power button the dreaded "Slide for Emergency" was there again.

When I tried to dial *#307# to start the process again it didn't work (dialing that number); I dialed 0 and it did work: Answer+Hold+Decline

[[AND THAT REMINDED ME THAT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED the first time I did the whole process (*#307# didn't quite work, but dialing 0 did).]]

After 0+Answer+Hold+Decline, I went back to jailbreakme.com again, executed AppSnap, and I got the Black screen again (STUCK THERE again).

    Any ideas?

Thank you very much in advance.

i have the solution for your problem...

i dont know if you have the cable connected to your comp, but do so anyway and load up itunes just to be secure...

when appsnap takes you back to the main screen of your ifone, and it sais "slide" DO SO, and let it remain in the dial screen of your iphone.

from there, your ifone WILL restart... took me the longest to figure that out, i was waiting foreverrrrr waiting for it to restart on the waiting screen, to figure out i had to be on the keypad screen lol so do that and see if it works. peace
