That is just a misinterpretation of the hardware unlock method that geohot posted on his blog.
Just some guy that wants to get attention that he doesnt deserve...

dude it's not about that. it's about reading the damn stickies and doing a little bit of searching before you post something. especially a sensitive topic like a possible software unlock for 1.1.2 otb where hundreds and probably thousands of readers who will jump into this and find out it's fake. you are giving false hope to these readers. not to mention this wastes forum space. there's plenty of other thread topics that are more worthy of forum space than this "zomg is this 1.1.2 software unlock real?"
if you actually read/searched around you would know that any software unlock is fake atm. if a real unlock did come out, the mods would be all over it and sticky it because they have the connections to those working on the unlock. i highly doubt anyone other than dev team or the elite team are working on an unlock.
also i won't have any problems when i say that you're an idiot by jumping all over a link that claims to have the true unlock without doing some investigating by yourself. and instead would rather ask ppl here to do the investigating for you. use your brain. if there's no legitimate proof provided, it's fake. end of story.history of my iPhone 2G 8GB:
