Software unlocking is so tempting to me right now since this chance doesn't come very often. I am thinking if I ever go international, I could save by using a prepaid sim. Also I am thinking about switch to T-Mobile but that is about 30% chance. Anyway, I wanted to know if I should unlock. If I should, will my AT&T sim/service be affected???? If not explain why not.

If you are not going to travel or change service there is little point in unlocking. If you do unlock, by definition, most SIM cards will work including your current AT&T one.

A Jailbreak might be nice in case you want to add apps etc.
