[1.1.2 OTB] Question, HW unlock bbupdater
After running iunew and get a succeful load with the test point shorted. Is it necessary to run bbupdater. I followed the i.unlock guide and it said no. But I can not jailbreak 1.1.2 after the UPDATE and I am wondering if this could be the problem.
Have others unlock without running bbupdater. I have no other clue why I cant get 1.1.2 Jailbreak to run without a connection error.

there is the complete tutorial
http://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm But before you start you need install terminal on your phone and run all the comands from iPhone terminal (this is safer)

thanks, but I already did this and got through to iunew load with the test point. My question is: do you need to run bbupdater after Iunew. http://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm says no but other tutorials say yes.
I am having trouble jailbreaking 1.1.2 after I completed the iunew and restore to 1.1.2 >> 1.1.1 > oktoprep>> Update to 1.1.2 then jailbreak wont work. So I was guessing maybe I need to run bbupdater again or start the entire HW lock procedd over again. Glad I kept my phone opened.

after you restored to 1.1.1 did you remember to jailbreak (jailbreakme.com) that too? maybe that's the reason for your error. i'm not too sure.

btw kds how is the condition of your iphone cover after you disassembled it? i'm about to begin the hardware unlock, but my worry for the cosmetic condition after i pry it open is the only thing that's keeping me from starting.

Just close your eyes and have a go for it, I managed to keep the cosmetical damages to a minimum and if not, you can replace those without a problem, just make sure you have a very good magnifier glass ...and a steady hand

what did you use to open up the casing? i'm planning to just use a small knife and probably a plastic bag or saran wrap to minimize the scratching on the phone.
also, i tried looking for a magnifying glass, but i don't have one readily available. but i have pretty good vision 20/20! will that be enough?
or is the trace this small? | <--

cover is ok. little damage but no big deal. I was way firmer with it this time and that seemed to help. I followed the video with the 2 minute open using a pocket knife. Las
