a guy announced in this blog "http://zibree.blogspot.com/2008/02/good-news-for-small-group-of-masochists.html" that he had the rights of total control of iphone. is it useful for software unlock of 1.1.2 OTB?

EH BL 4.06 1.1.2 s/w unlock is near impossoble its locked up pretty hard dude

That's for ramdisk decrypting i belive. Not useful for baseband or bootloader, only for decrypting future firmware from what I understand.

Ideal solution would be a flaw in the bl 4.06 or a software downgrade method to bl 3.9.

I SAY sim solutions will always be possible so as jailbreaing but s/w unlocking is OLD SCHOOL.

But sim solution is not a true unlock, you also got to problems with mis-alingment and battery drain issues.

Well as long as you can use a different carrier its good. And they don't all drain your battery, only the Next sim's do (THE CHEAP NON-PROGRAMMABLE ONES)

but i wish software unlock where still possible.

Are you referring to a software unlock for otb 1.1.2?

DUDE it wont happen first they said they found a loophole in the BL so anysim can work, then they said they need a (b) need a newer baseband software 04.04.13_G (1.1.3),
then 1.1.3 cam out with a new baseband, (c) then AAPL changed the way the bootloader reads the end digits 0X200 of the baseband, so (d) the 4.06 bootloader still wont get validated from the (e) new baseband secpack, (f) Geohot says 1.1.2 unlock will not work, (g) the loophole found in the 4.06 bootloader is will not allow an anysim to run and now you have two problems the BOOTLOADER and the BASEBAND.

SO PEOPLE STILL WAITING FOR A 1.1.2 04.02.13_G SODTWARE UNLOCK YOU CAN TELL ME THE CHANCES OF A SOFTWARE UNLOCK......

so the smartest thing to do is for people with:

1.1.2, get a xSIM

1.1.3, Wait till the xSIM's solotion comes out they have them and they are under devleopment.

so does this mean i can unlock a 1.1.2 OTB iphone??
