Default [1.1.2 OTB] My Hardware Unlock story

To unlock, i used the package in the installer.

Then made sure i had mobile terminal...
    Ran lauchctl unload...
Lost wifi... Thought, oh well, i'll continue this on mobileterminal.
    Did the ienew, worked...
Did the iunew, said my testpoints arn't working. Tried about 5 times, last one worked.

Ran bbupdater -v. Said baseband is not responding to pings.

Restored to 1.0.2 (probably the biggest mistake)
I have no wifi, can't dial numbers, can't do anything...

Finally managed to jailbreak/activate with winxp and ibrickr.
Copied all the files i need manually to /usr/bin, aswell as installed mobile terminal.
bbupdater -v still says unresponsive to pings.

ran ienew, says "Still waiting for files..."

Now, I'm stuck. I have made sure i have the secpack file in /usr/bin. And the nor.

according to the tutorial at http://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm, it says that after you do the testpoint you should ignore the instruction that tells you to run bbupdater -v. maybe that part messed you up.

some people had trouble with this h/w unlock but eventually found a way to fix things (which i don't know how). best of luck with fixing it dude. you can do it!

    OK, NEW NEWS!

I ignored what ienew said. And went for iunew with the test points connected... AND IT WORKED. It flashed it. Finished at Downloaded: 1FF00, but when i ping my baseband it still says unresponsive to pings.

What do you suggest i do?

OK. I finally did it, it's even unlocked.

Just want to point out to people. DON'T GIVE IN AND INSTALL 1.1.3! It's NOT the end. You have no wifi, sound, baseband..... you CAN fix it.

Can you detail how you did it?

How did you manage to restore to 1.02?

    1. Restore to 1.0.2 with Shift - click itunes.
    2. Use iBrickr to jailbreak your iphone. (vista didn't work for me here, xp did)
    3. Use the activation script to activate your iphone (ONLY after it's been jailbroken)
    4. Use Ibrickr to install the mobile terminal. Go get the PXL file, install that.
    5. Use Ibrickr to copy over all the required files for the bootloader downgrade to /dev/bin (attempt #2)
    6. Use mobileterminal to set correct permissions then unload com.apple.CommCenter.plist. - Same step as before. (My iphone was all laggy until i did this, probably because of the lack of a baseband)
    7. bbupdater -v: told me my baseband was unresponsive to pinging.... Ok, continued anyways. ienew Failed. Says "Waiting for Files..."
    Just continue.
    8. Iunew to write the bootloader, this time you need the testpoints, VOILA it started writing! Might take a couple trieds.
    9. Flashed Baseband with bbupdater.
    10. Checked basebead with bbupdater -v: It says bl3.9!!!

    11. Shift Restore to 1.1.1
    12. *#307# to jailbreakme.com jailbreak.
    13. Oktoprep 1.1.2 install
    14. Shift Upgrade 1.1.2
    15. Jailbreak with the jar dev tool.
    16. Install anysim. Run.
    17. Enjoy your unlocked iphone.

If your having trouble getting your baseband flashed and have already lost wifi. Don't give in. Make sure you have all your files and they are all set to permissions 777.

Could you elaborate step 9? Is it something like bbupdater -f XXX -e XXX? If so, what files did you use to restore?

I did exactly what you did, except for steps 9 and 10. And after I restore version 1.1.1 I still dont have any baseband.... Restoring to 1.1.2 or 1.0.2 does not help either....
