Hi everybody..

I'm just waiting for my new US iphone 1.1.2 OTB (bought on december so no chance to have old bootloader..) and as many here hopeful to have a software unlock soon (or some news about it after the MacWorld).

My first idea was to jailbrake it and use as an ipod until the unlock is available..

Then i was asking myself if maybe the future unlock procedure (jailbrake/activate/unlock) would be in some way different and if jailbrake it now might bring any issue for the new unlocking..

Leave it not activated/jailbroken. At least until you read the forum/stickies and undarstand how unlocking works. I saw this queation pop-up at least 5 times now.

Maybe you know when the unlock is coming out?

That's not what hes asking.

Go ahead and Jailbreak/Activate it. Most likely you will need to do that before you install whatever the software unlock is anyway. I'm not responsible if that turns out wrong though...but I would (and already did) jailbreak it.

Just jailbreak it and enjoy!
