The Test subject suffered heavy cosmetic damage but it is now free !!!!!

Moderate success outside - metal cover got a little banged-up. Really recommend using iPod opening tolls, I didn't but wish I had. I used credit cards and just about any other hard plastic stuff I could find.

Total success inside - Easy stuff! The diminute size of the circuits can be a little frightening at first glance but it's not as tough as it seems after you do it. You definitely need a good magnifier and a magnifier-holding-friend.

Total success in software part - Easiest part of the process. Just read, double read and triple read the instructions so you don't forget anything. Therminal is very important, don't forget it.

The way I see it, it's very hard to mess things up as long as you take your time and relax while doing it.

I did it, and works just fine! Did 3 right now, with minor cosmetic damages, but huge hand damage caused by the "ipod opening tool" that hurt my hand.
But the iphones are working fine!

14 hours of work, no scratches at all and finally free from 4.6... Worth it

I have 2 working perfectly and one with no IMEI no ICCD and has the repair message, I will try tomorrow to downgrade to 1.0.2 because I have tried several times without luck, but I know that was my mistake, I will solve it I know so, also not a single scratch on them, My friend takes time to disassemble and uses the ipod/iphone disassembly tools and guitar nails, not a single flaw. Now I have like 8 waiting to be unlocked.

dear community! the instructions are becoming more and more clear, but the percentage of failures is still on the same level (successure 2 to 1), while there should have been constant decrease of it. Can it not be a coincidence but some factor we didn't take into consideration? Are there many people that were able to do h/w unlock several times np but then failed on some phone suddenly?

The HW unlock is not so hard, pure fun

Did the h/w unlock,
the actual test point was a breeze, did it after about 4 tries
it was the opening of the phone which used the most time about 5 hrs on opening the phone.

Dont know hoe some ppl opened it using a guitar pick. but i had to use a metal ruler and it was my gym session for the week

did you use the special ipod opening tools?

had some difficulties, but now everything works. Made some minor damage to the aluminium case, and the back antena cover doesn't suit perfectly.
