I did it, took me 5 hours to open the iphone, 45 min to finish the rest
ON 1.0.2 i did not loose wifi at any point , but i had installed mobole terminal just in case.
A warning to all readers, the track is VERY VERY SMALL. in my case soldering actually seemed imposible, had i seen how small it was i would have not even tried it. But since i had my phone open already i did it.
Its really reall small.
I used guitar picks, screwdrivers plastic packing from packaging to keep the first side of the latch open while i did the other side.
Overall the phone suffered lots opening it. I cut myself also but procedure worked perfectly .
i used needles pressed down on the trace.
I tried softly it did not work, then a little harder and it did. Be carefull not to push too hard. And use the sleep command it gives you the fredom to use 2 hands on the needles

You really shouldn't make statements like this, because you're assuming everyone gets scratches and bends case to unfixable state. Some people do screw up and fuck things up but that wasn't the case with me. Yes, it wasn't easy opening it up, I admit. Took about 4 hours first time, but it's possible with patience and I have no real visible cosmetic damage.

Now, if you go at it thinking "Am I gonna break something? Am I gonna scratch something??" Guess what? YOU PROBABLY WILL
Done it :)
Have done the HW unlock - and i am now proud owner of a phone which can make phonecalls
For me the hardest part was to get off and on the plastic antenna cover - the metal cover was quite easy - first i tried the side without buttons - but it didn't moved a bit - so i tried the other side which easily snapped off after a bit force - i just used plastic materials - which i recommend - i had this parts from the ipod battery. so i finally managed to get anything off without scratches - the shield over the chips was no problem - but then i first saw how small this all is - i had a wrong imagination about that - when u see the photos i just looks as it's no problem - without a magnifying glass i would have been pissed. I made the cork needle thingy and read everything i found about the unlock (read everything carefully) - i made a downgrade to 1.1.1 installed everything (including Octoprep) after i did the erase there was no way back - i had to do the iunew thing twice because on the first try i missed the points in time. (i used sleep20) - but i also had taped everything together - so that i couldn't touch anything except the testpoints. after it worked i did the launchctl load stuff and then the bbupdater -v - which gave me an error (maybe used by another app) - i looked on hackintosh and found other guys having the same message - (you can forget this message) - so i upgraded to 1.1.2 , jailbreak and anysim - and now i'm happy
BTW: my phone was week 48 (otb 1.1.2)
Hi, i did it, works perfect, thanks every body.
Keep the good work!!!
Did a few units, no problem. I remember why I hate hardware unlocks -- getting that back case off is the worst part of the job by far.
i have a few questions, hope you guys can help me with it,
How to put the needed files on iphone ?
im on 1.1.2 otb bl 4.6 but downgraded to 1.1.1
i tried ibrickr to transfer the files to my iphone but it doesnt seem to work

hey marc, is it possible that you could send me some pics of your iphone's case after breaking it open and putting it back together?
