Ok first of, I just wanted to note that I'm not a computer programmer, network tech, or microboard engineer or anything of that sort. I'm in the exporting business out of Miami, FL.

I have very basic computer knowledge, but balls of steel.

I feared this method very much so and opted to wait for software unlock when I first saw this a couple days ago.

Last night, after drinking a few New Castle's watching Boxing Match (Trinidad got his butt kicked) I told myself "fuck it, let's do this". I felt I had so much more to gain by learning this unlock procedure than just sitting around with a thumb up my ass waiting on other people to do work of figuring out software unlock. Oh and No, I'm not going to buy a bunch of *Sim cards to get around this, I have quite a few iphones that need to go way South. I'd love to donate a few but they're not really mine, I just owned one of them.

I used a small plastic edging tool (home depot), credit card sized magnifying thing that I got free in mail, very small screw driver that I got from this computer guy's tool kit, 2 needles that I connected ghetto style with black tape and stereo wire.

I will try to record a video on my next one that I'll do this coming Tuesday, but for now just wanted to report it wasn't as difficult as said to be. YES, you do need patience and YES you need to follow directions 100%. Other than that, even a novice like myself could do it.

looks like a decent number of sucesses and have to say not bad considering how many days the unlock has been available.

of course your gonna have people stumble and especially in the beginning but wont many people end up succeeding and then how do you take them off the 'no' side and put them on the 'yes' side.

If that dude from miami can do it with a toothpick and something free in the mail thingy, i think number_41 could give it a shot to make his vote valid.

I would know some tips ...
What tools did you use? I don't have nothing here and I really wanna some McGiver style tools.

I also want to know what the damage left in the phone...

What about cosmetic damage? Did anybody go through the process without scratching the iphone at all?

I can safely say this method works. I've so far unlocked 6 iPhones using this method, and have 12 to go.

    Here are my tools:

-Long Razor Blade (it has no sharp edge)

-2 Small Thin Plastic Swiss Army Knives

    - 10x Magnifying Glass

-Ghetto Ass Needles with Cork and Stereo Wire

-Very bright (I mean bright!!) Desk Lamp

    -Giant Balls

There's really minor damage to the backplates.
You wouldn't notice it unless you really really look for it.
For me, getting the blackantenna plate without damaging it, is the hardest part.

ALWAYS use Terminal. Don't you dare try to use Wi-Fi. Restore to 1.1.2 drectly and then downgrade to 1.1.1.

    Any Questions PM me.

Works perfectly to me, its no easy at all. I got my phone bricked with no terminal on it. It was scary, but did the 1.0.2 thing and a couple of hours later i success.
One advice, if you are going to do the process, take care of the plate behind the apple in the back cover by isolating it with tape. (otherwise you could get signal problems). Good luck.
