Default [1.1.2 OTB] HW Unlock - how to connect testpoints?

    Pleeeease heeeeeeeeelp!!!

I am trying to connect testpoints for 5 hours now, no success. I tried at least 100 times. I must be doing something wrong, can somebody give me a hint what might be wrong. Have 2 needles connected by a piece of wire, should be conductable. I am also quite sure I have found the right spot and I can see the metal. So what the f*** is the problem????????

I will go crazy, totally losing patience!

    Many thanks for any help!

Update: Meanwhile I got myself a magnifying glass and I think I was scrubbing too hard before and broke the small wire under the green surface. How can I ultimately check if this really is the case? I am still not able to connect the testpoint. Is this maybe the symptom for broken wire?

    Thanks!

    - Use a magnifiing glass
    - solder the wire with the needles, not just contact
    - try to scrath a little the trace
    - see photos to ensure you are doing right
    - press hard with the niddle, it has to penetrate slightly
    - use sleep 60, and try and try and try

    last but important:
think positive, try it just "knowing" you are going to achieve it!!

    good luck!

Just because it's a wire, doesn't mean it is conductive. Switch to something else. If you can, post a picture of where you are connecting the wire, so that we can check you are connecting the right points.

Just for the record: I did my Hardware unlock with one of those "cable holder" wires. You know, those wires that are meant to keep cables together (like when you buy some new electronic device with brand new cables inside the box). Those wires covered in black plastic. Sorry, I don't really know the proper name of those wires! :p

I'm not here to find help. I'm here to help others and give back what I've learned from Hackint0sh.

I just made the needles touch each other (in an "X" configuration). Conduction assured and it's more stable to hold than two separate needles.

Make sure you scratch the trace. Forget about "pinching through" or whatever. I had to scratch pretty hard (with the needle itself) - first attempts were not "deep" enough (but make sure you don't scratch too hard )

Use a magnifying glass like somebody suggested. Make sure you've got the right trace and voltage source

    Try, try, try

    Good luck

i did my needles with cable from some old headphones, but then changed to real electric wire and teste them with a bulb, then it worked like magi, TEST THEM either with a bulb or a multimeter, don´t just think they are conductive, TEST TEST TEST

Thanks guys for advice and encouragement!

I am 100 % sure the points are correct, was studying all the pictures available on the net.

I am also quite sure my cable is conductive but will check it.

Until now I was working without a magnifying glass, so now I am going out to buy one. I hope it will help, maybe I was missing the right sport for few nanometers but wasn't able to see it without a glass.

Thanks again! Will keep you posted!

i am also having alot of trouble connecting the testpoints. i'm using wire from old earphones and i have tried more than 50 times already. i'm beginning to think it's the wire. i don't know what else i can use to connect.

I know it may sound kind of silly, but give someone else a try. I personally tried getting the test point done about 40 times before I said to my cousin, here you try. He got it on 2nd try.

I figured eh' beginner's luck, but every phone i've done from that point on (about 8) he's had to do it for me cause no matter how clearly i see the damn thing touching it just doesn't work, I can't freaking understand it. He always gets it in 3 tries or less!
