This is a well explained step-by step guide for OTB 1.12 hardware unlock. with some expected errors performed on mac os

managed to do 5 unlocks today and now i'm posting it....

done with mac os, 7,5 itunes
needles wired attached in a school compass, swiss army knife, magnifying lens and a tiny screw driver(phillips)

I did many hw unlocks last year.....What I realized is that this new iphones are pretty harder to open...but knowing the right pressure applied in right places...the cover comes out easily...

all credits to geo hotz and all those tried to make this easier...


Follow exactly as decribed....and there will be no problem at all....




1- take your 1.1.2otb iphone and put it in recovery mode

2- do a alt+restore to 1.1.1 using itunes

probably you'll get the 1015 error and your iphone will stuck in recovery mode...just ignore it...

3- quit itunes and open jailbreak.jar

and choose to reboot from recovery...
you'll see the iphone recovery screen changing to apple logo....
that's enough...unplug the iphone.....
the will boot and go to 1.1.1 activation screen

4- do the *#307# call trick to jailbreak and activate

*#307# call
0 call
answer - hold-decline

add a contatct with
http://jailbreakme.com
and
prefs://

save it and touch in prefs:// and go to wifi and configure your wifi password

press home button

go to dialpad and press 0 call

answer-hold decline

go to jailbreakme.com

install appsnapp

5 - go to installer and add i.unlock.no in source

install in this exact order
system>bsd subsystem
system>term-vt100
unlocking tools>bootloader downgrade

6- the hard part....open your iphone...

remove sim tray
black cover...
3 screws
silver cover...careful with the ribbon..
open the comm board metal case...

prepare your needles...

7- open terminal from your springboard (term-vt100 icon)
type this commands....case sensitive!


launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

cd /usr/bin/

ienew

this is what happens

Opened: /dev/tty.baseband
iEraser for 112OTB: tool by geohot
Waiting for data...

now prepare your needles...

the iunew command must be entered in terminal(term-vt100)

to gain some time...

type

sleep 20; iunew

and after pressing return

quickly turn your phone and

lean your needle on A17 line and touch the capacitor...(will post pic soon...or just search if you can't wait...)

you have 20 seconds...(sleep 20...remember?)

do not recommend to increase the time cuz sometimes is harder to keep the needle in the right position than finding the position...

Please connect the testpoint
means you'll have to do it again

TESTPOINT WORKS: 55
Press any char, then hit enter after testpoint has been disconnected
means it ok to go....press any character and enter

the screen output will end like this

run bbupdater -v and pray
if it worked, enjoy your unlocked iPhone!!!


DON'T RUN BBUPDATER....

press home button to leave terminal...

AT THIS MOMENT YOU'LL PROBABLY HAVE NO WIFI CONNECTION...

DONT PANIC...

connect to mac

put the phone in recovery mode

itunes again

alt+restore to 1.1.2


after it ends....

put it in recovery mode again

and alt+restore to 1.1.1

if your phone get stuck in recovery mode at this point
close itunes and reboot it using jaibreak.jar

the iphone will reboot and go to activation screen

jailbreak it with *#307# again repeating the whole step 4

don't forget to autolock>never

9- open installer and add i.unlock.no in sources

go to unlocking tools>bbdowngrade
follow instructions...

after it's done....

this is the last restore....

put it in recovery mode and alt-restore to 1.1.1 ( your iphone is already in with 1.1.1fw....anyways just do it again...)

if stucks in recovery....jaibreak.jar again after quitting itunes..

activation screen........

10 - the last!

*#307#...jailbreakme.com.......

in installer>unlocking tools....anysim v 1.1 (04.01.13)

put your desired sim card....

run anysim

and is all good.....


problems....

I know that seems too many restores.....but....didn't find other ways to make it simple...

everytime your iphone get stuck it recovery mode, quit itunes and run jailbreak.jar and reboot.....

ignore all error on itunes during restore...even contact apple crap... if it happens....go to 1.1.2 and start again....

some tutorials say that

in step 5, install also oktoprep...

and then after iunew, you'll just have to restore it 1.1.2 and jaibreak and run anysim 1.1.2.....

can someone confirm this?
