Unhappy [1.1.2 OTB] How to open the antenna cover?

I tried to open the antena cover from the top right of it (when you look at the back of you phone) using cutter, flat screwdriver (and even my nail ) but i was unable to open it and it ends with some serious scratches on it.
Please somebody tell me how did you opened yours. and what tool you used.

Top right?? Isn't that only for the iPod Touch? The iPhone's antenna cover is at the bottom of the back.. and it's a really big black piece...

I guess if you want to remove the antenna cover you have been reading other posts ... try this one: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24174

in the first pages are some links to some video tutorials ...

    have fun.

I did it with a knife, just cut on the backside, push en move it out of there ... do this left and right. Will scratch a bit but hey ... if it is too much damaged, you can easily buy an spare one.

    Hi,
although this is my first post - hi everybody - I watched this forum eagerly since I own also a 1.1.2. OTB phone. I don't like the *sim solution very much therefore I'm very interested in the hw unlock method. What I don't like is that you put the outside cover very much at risk. After experimenting with a leatherman and making one almost unvisible scratch and watchin the opening the iPhone in 2mins video several times I had the idea to use a very sticky adhesive tape instead of a sharp tool. And after some tries it turned out to be successful.
    1. Just put the adhesive tape on the antenna cover and rub it hard in order to get it fixed as much as possible.
    2. Grab the upper part of your iPhone very hard.
    3. After the tape is fixed you just have to pull hard in the direction of the connector. It will take some serious amount of force but it works if the tape is sticky enough. Otherwise just the tape will come loose nothing else.
And there's almost no risk that your precious little iPhone gets damaged. See the images below.

This is the antenna cover with my adhesive tape applied to it.

    This is the other side

This is what the antenna cover looked like after removing the tape. No visible marks remained. The small scratch at the left is a result of my first try.

Please don't ask me about the brand of the tape because it's army supply of the german bundeswehr. But I'm sure you'll find something similar.

    Hope this helps.

    Original !!!
But I would be afraid of cracking one of the levers/hooks and thus not be able to put it back on, no?

Seems to be ok. Here's a close up of the inside. Only the left hook seems to be a little deformed, but nothing serious in my point of view.

Inside close up of antenna cover.

Yeah, but still working on the metal back cover. I don't have an opening tool.
