I screwed up when i tried the Geohot unlock method. The I tried to do restore to the 1.1.2 version and do the jailbreak method but when i downgraded to the 1.1.1 version i got a warning that the iphone needs to be repaired. I followed the tutorial i found in another thread to update to 1.1.3 then downgrade to 1.1.1 again but the problem is that Itunes cannot dowgrade my iphone to 1.1.1 in DFU mode. Any ideas pls??

anyone?? What version of itunes shall i use??

when you are on dfu mode to restore to 1.1.1 do you have a total black screen or any signs on the screen?

i have the screen with itunes logo and the cable. When I try to shift restore and browse to the file of 1.1.1 firmware , Itunes is extracting the files but when it start to perform the restore I am getting an error that Itunes cannot restore the iphone

so you are not in dfu mode!

click and hold sleep and home button until display gets dark, then leave sleep button before apple logo appears, but still hold home button, after a while you hear a connection sound on your pc and then you are in dfu mode and restoring to 1.1.1 will work

So ive had similar problem. After Running the soft unlock my 1.12OTB - wich was jail broken, and everything my phone started to in an endless loop of rebooting ( the unlock was unsuccessfull - week 47 fyi ) so i then attempted to restore - phone did fine on 1.1.1 then i went back to 1.02 ( wich i read is aperantly impossible on 1.1.2's ) .. Now... i got an ibrick with unkown imie no wifi, and apearntly no simcard.. and an error msg that says the phone needs to be repaired. I have the 1.1.1 ... activation screen but cannot use the keypad to make a call to unlock or access contacts ect.. the also fails to restore any firmware from 1..13 to 1.1.1 now ( it does however only work with 1.0.2 .. pass everytime with an error when restoring the firmware part but its as further then any other firmware will go in terms of restoring.. infact 1.1.1 / 1.1.2 / 1.1.3 fail right after they "prepare" the phone.. it sends the phone outa dfu mode into a black screen.. .. Wtf!! :'( ( also itunes fails all the firmware's with a 1610 error [except 1.0.2 fw]

you said you have the apple logo and the cable showing on the display, when this is true you are not in dfu mode

go in dfu mode like i described
