Question [1.1.2 OTB] [Advice] Possible baseband corruption and IMEI error

    Hi Guys,

I know there are many threads going around with the 0049 IMEI error but i have searched and searched and restored and restored etc etc but to no avail.

I have completed the 4.6 bootloader HW downgrade procedure a few weeks ago, which i believe was successful, but yet to find the reason for my problem, so am not sure if it was entirely successful. bbupdater states that my bootloader is now 3.9 and i am able to successfully up and downgrade through all basebands. But i cannot repair my 0049 IMEI even though having tried these two guides to a tee:

Is anyone able to state all possible reasons why i can't correct my IMEI? What makes up the baseband of the phone and what affects it? Is there a part of it which is not changed by flashing the baseband firmware (ie virginising etc)?

FYI: I have tried several tutorials and by repeating each with or without my SIM in, or by using a previous version of iTunes and a different PC. So i believe i have tried almost all options.

I would really really appreciate it if someone can help me or point me in the right direction. I would normally find the information myself but i am struggling to find a suitable source. As this is a community of technically biased people who generally like to help each other out then really i should stand a reasonable chance of getting the help in need.

Thanks. I eagerly await your replies. :p
