[1.1.2 OOB] Oktoprep 1.1.1 ==> 1.1.2 just not damn working. Please Help
Hi Guys
Well I gyess from the title it should be obvious what's happening. Here's what I have done :-
Guys I really ned help on this one. I ahve f**cked with my phone a lot. For some reason now, when I octoprep and then do a upgrade to 1.1.2 jailbreak says I have not Oktopreped the phone. So I thought stuff it and did a manual oktoprep as per below. Still sayd the same. This is what Im doing -
1. DFU --> Restore to 1.1.1
2) Using *#307# get into phone and add usual URL'Ls including prefs://11, jailbreakme.com AND jailbreak.toc2rta.com.
** Note: Now most would be wondering why I have both jailbreakme.com and toc2rta.com. I worked out that jailbreakme.com was just not working after 10 or so attempts. I then checked toc2rta.com and realised that server is just too busy. So I decided to do the TIFF exploit using toc2rta.com and then when I comfirmed it worked I used jailbreakme .com and it goez through.
3) Reboot phone into 1.1.1 and install BSDSUBSYSTEM and OPENSSH
4) Copy mknod into /usr/bin
5) Now putty into the phone and execute these lines one by one which is a manual ver of Oktoprep as far as I know
cd /var/root/Media
mknod disk c 14 1
chmod 666 disk
6) Plug phone into USB and do a manual upgrade to 1.1.2 and then throw the phone across the room cause no matter how I try to Octoprep it says I haven't done it.
Help really needed. Worked yesterday, just not today.
Arrrrrgggg

Hi, try doing the whole process on another computer, restoring to 1.1.1, booting it with jailbreak, installing oktoprep, updating to 1.1.2 and then jailbreak it. It happened to me thousand of times, until i did it on another computer and worked with no probs. Hope it helps!

Yes I am. Also forgot to mention. I upgraded using the Official Dev Team upgrade to 1.1.3 and forgot to install BSDSUBSYSTEM. Needless to say it crashed after that and trouble started. Also after I upgrade to to 1.1.2 it doesn't crash. That worries me whay that is happening.
I read this
9. UPDATE to 1.1.2
Go into iTunes and shift click on UPDATE and select your 1.1.2 file. NOTE: Do not hit restore, shift-click UPDATE.
After this is complete you'll get an error.
I don't get an error?
*** Also I forgot to mention that it also has problems after I tun jailbreakme.com. When it reboots I just get spinner and Apple logo and of course nothing. What pissus me off is that there is no consistency with this which I find bazar.
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks All
Kman

Strange one ?
I mite try restoring to 1.1.1 then adding i.unlock.no to source in installer and running the baseband downgrader pack "only works if you 3.9BL of course"
Edit: it mite be a wasted effort but at least when your done you will have completely fresh v1.1.1 with 04.01.13_G

Well you could try a different PC but if its worked B4 on this one I cant see why it would work again.
Only thing you can do really is restore to 1.1.2 then back to 1.1.1 oktoprep back up to 1.1.2 again with 4.6BL
Maybe as a long shot try going back to 1.0.2 then to 1.1.1 then oktoprep and back to 1.1.2
But I can't see it fixing it

Thanks but have tried that as well.
OK here's the thing. I have just now gone down to 1.1.1, Jailbreaked it and installed Oktoprep. Can someone please confirm something for me. I checked the rights of /private/var/root/Media/ and after Oktoprep created the disk file its rights are 644 not 666 like most articles suggest they should be. Could this be the problem ??
I am not going to do anything more unitl someone confirms this as I kid you not I have killed a whole fucking day doing this. Am going nuts here.
