Sorry when did you buy this iphone in the 5th avenue store ? I was there today and the staff told me that they only sell the 1.1.3 version. Now iam confused. Would be great if you could help me.

What did you use to get off the small black cover on the back?

mapro, he has a week 41 meaning it was purchased a while back. i have a week 51 and i got it on january 2nd with 1.1.2otb.

congrats with your success, i plan to get another iphone to use as my test phone and i wanna do this test point hw unlock on it when i get it.

Anybody out here who bought an iphone in New York city 5th avenue store in the last 2-5 days ? who can help me find out which firmware they are selling right now ?

I asked 4 staff: All said its all 1.1.3 firmware. I cant really believe it. Perhaps its only their policy to tell it to all people asking for it.

you guys shouldn't buy from APPLE.

Buy from the AT&T Store.

Apple opens the phones and updates the FW.

AT&T is best and you can also pay in CA$H!!

ATT . I have been there today as well. The didnt want to sell a phone to me. They said without activating the phone in the store ( contract needed) no iphone.

Any idea how to buy a 1.1.2 in NYC ? Also instruction how to buy an iphone in an ATT store are welcome ..

I will leave USA on monday and i want to have a 1.1.2 iphone until leaving. :-)

if bouth from at&t your not registered directly and i dont kno how the warrenty would work out?

but jus buy a phone and open it in ur car, and do the dial method to see what version of firmware u have. if its not what ur looking for walk inside and return it for a refund but they'll charge u 10% to do so lol but its worth a shot.

the longer u wait the more chance you have in getting 1.1.3

most iphones with week 01 or 02 or 03 may or may not have 1.1.3, so try to find one with a week prior to that.

yes thats perhaps the only way. I have to buy one to see which firmware is on it.

Better if there is anybody out here just bought an iphone in a NYC store in the last days? But however if there is nobody i will try my luck....

u could always hop on craigslist and search nyc area for a iphone with the exact firmware you want. might even be cheaper then the store.

but if u go to the store, atleast make sure u look at the week number on the back of the phone before you buy it and make sure its like 51 or 52 or 50 or anyhting less.

remmeber the week number is the 4th and 5th number on the serial number

so if it said something like 3D45197632

you should have a week 51 iphone which could have 1.1.2 or atleast a better chance.

other people have claimed that most iphones with week 00 or newer have the newer firmware, although some didn't. most prolly do if not all by now
