Default [1.1.2/1.1.3 OTB] No Wi-Fi. Definetly a Hardware Problem

    Hi Guys,

i've been fixing iPhone before and finaly, after a lot of upgrading, downgrading and unlocking it's definitive.

Some iPhones lose wi-fi and there is no way to fix them. After my last post the BL downgrader came out so i decided to do one last test so i downgraded my BL and then virginized (iphone-elite method) the phone and flashed the 1.0.2 baseband with bbupdater. After that i still didn't had Wi-Fi so i rerestored to 1.1.3 and unlocked with ZiPhone 2.0.

    Still no Wi-Fi.

    I really think it's a hardware problem.

One side note which i believe important:

BBUPDATER HANGS FOR A MINUTE WHILE FLASHING THE .EEP AT AROUND 16% AND THEN KEEPS ON GOING JUMPING TO 100%.

From what i know about virginizing the phones it just goes on with flashing without getting stuck.

If someone could write a program to verify the eeprom and nand integrity that'll be great for everybody. That way we can verify if it's a hardware problem or just a software one and thus fixable.

I have the same problem. My fone is a 1.1.2 OTB. Went all way down and upgrade, erased the baseband. I was almost doing the HW bootloader downgrade when geohot just did the SW. So I've downgraded my bootloader and went all way down to 1.0.2 erasing the baseband and getting it back again. Then I virginized it, and the wi-fi still grey. Right know my fone has 3.9BL 03.14.08_G BB 1.0.2 Firm. Many people are loosing the wi-fi. I just don't now what to do anymore.
ps.: did the reset settings on all versions too.

did the "reset network settings" too but it doesn't matter. Whatever you do there is no way to get wifi back.

Hope is not really an hardware problem but where we stand right now i don't have an idea of what it could be other than that

I haven't neccesarily lost my wifi completly but it has defintely corrupted my phone. No matter which firmware / baseband I use when trying to acces my wifi, the phone reboots -> then wifi is greyed out.

Question: Has anyone tried to use the Geo/Zibri downgrade to 3.9 Bootloader methods on phones that shipped with 3.9?

I am not sure it could help, but just an idea. Can you erase your baseband and let itune to restore to 1.1.3 which let the itune to rewrite your baseband to original.

    just a thought.
    1.0.2 OTB (iUnlock) -> Virginized -> 1.1.1 (anySim 1.1) -> 1.1.2 (anySim 1.2.1u) -> 1.1.3 (itune update + geo Ipsf) -> 1.1.4 (Ziphone) -> 2.0 (pwntool) -> 2.0.1 (pwntool)

Failing all else you could replace the comm board. Expensive option but better than a dead phone. There's one for sale on eBay right now (I know beacause I put it there ).

I bought it from iFixit.com when I thought I'd bricked my phone but in the end I managed to fix my particular problem without changing the comm board (since it was a software problem in my case).

I very much doubt I'm allowed to link to an eBay item on this forum but, in case it's okay:

My WiFi stopped working as well with the ZiPhone method. But it wasn't grayed out. I restored to a fresh 1.1.3 and then followed this tutorial and everything worked fine!
