1.1.1 Upgrade Jailbreak+Activation! EASIEST GUIDE!! WORKS!!!
this is the easiest guide to upgrade to 1.1.1 and activate
1. Download iNdependance 1.2.2 from http://code.google.com/p/independence/
2. When you open iNdependance on the menu bar click help
3. Follow instructions!!!
Thats right, its THAT SIMPLE!!!
I just tried it, took me 8 minutes and everything works!!!
Mac ONLY!!!
Must be unlocked with IPSF (iPhoneSimFree) unlock
*EDIT* YouTube does not work for me but some say it works for them so i guess its luck of the draw
*EDIT* iPhone file browser for 1.1.1 instructions here http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...5573#post85573

Question: I have a perfectly functioning iPhone running on FW version 1.0.2
I used the free unlock.app by Erica Sadun.
If I want to update NOW what do I have to do? Do I need to brick my phone first bu upgrading to 1.1.1 and then go back to 1.0.2 or can I just upgrade using Independence?!?

OK... a kind a "weird" question... has anyone tried this independence thing on a PC OSX installation? (please don't think it's offtop, cause I don't have any other opportunity to use Mac OS X)

One question:
My iPhone is 1.0.2 unlocked with IPSF and have lots of apps installed, Should I restore it to factory default before use independence and update it to 1.1.1?
Thanks

The new iNdependence does said that it can activate youtube, if you activate your phone using iNdependence
To activate your phone:
Ensure that you've upgraded to 1.1.1 using the special upgrade method mentioned above.
Select the Activation tab and press the Activate Phone button.
You should see a message saying Waiting for jail break.... Please be patient as it will take a while to do this.
Wait for the success message. Note that the activation process will also enable YouTube for you.
However, I have a question. When did you install Installer.app? (or actually did you install it at all?) When did you get IPSF program on that thing?
My guess would be after activation, jailbrake, ssh the iPhone, you install Installer.app and then install IPSF program using Installer.app. Am I corrent?
I just want to make it clear that WHEN and HOW to get the IPSF program install and unlock the phone.
Thanks in advance!
