Default 1.1.1 unlocked and WIFI reportedly not working

OK, so my brother got his Iphone as a birthday present yesterday.

He's a complete n00b when it comes to computers an all things technical.

He says today that his WIFI is not working. He can connect to his home network, but when he opens safari or youtube, it says safari can't connect to network...

He gets IP addresses and everything seems just fine.

I just guided him (we used the speaker option) so we could navigate around the settings menus and applied all the right settings, and still it would not work.

It worked at my place... Atleast before I did the anysim unlock, I can't remember if I ever tried the WIFI after this. (unlocked it yesterday)

    Please help.

I told him to shut down the two computers also sharing the WIFI network and to reset the WLAN. And just try connect with his Iphone. The WLAN box is a basemodel D-link.

It happens quite often. The known fix to that is to use OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com/) nameservers
    208.67.222.222
    and/or
    208.67.220.220
on the iphone. Otherwise the iphone tries to use the cached nameserver of your router and sometimes fails then. i have set one in the iphone and both in my router aswell. even when travelling (hotspot), the opendns nameservers are really fast, free and really reliable.
    helped on my iphone

Do I need to put this into the D-LINK aswell?

Or is it enough to have it in the Iphone? Cause I know he will not be able to change anything in the D-LINK himself

Use this DNS Server only on your iphone.

Is this an AnySim 1.1.1 issue? Haven't seen it reported on IPSF unlocks. I'm simply curious to prevent issues for myself in the future.
