sorry for posting this question, but i have been using
the search function, and couldnt find someone with the
same problem as i have.

i (finally) bought yesterday an iPhone on eBay, and
i really love it. its a 1.1.1 with 04.01.03_G
dont know how to look the baseband, if you need it,
please tell me where can i find that.

so, thing is, that the guy who sold me his iphone, also used
it before, so that right now, its unlocked (dont know how..)
and thing that also jailbroken, causeit has an Installer, but
i cant use the iPod function. well, i can listen to music, of course,
but i cant transfer more music to the iPhone. iTunes recognizes the iPhone,
and shows it, but i cant move more music into it, or delete the
already existing music.

Thought i could restore it, but i am afraid then it will be locked
again, true? would like to update to 1.1.2 but where can i get
that FW now? and how to do that, without wifi, cause i dont have
an open wifi connection around here.

is there somehing i can do, or just forget about using the iPod?

Did the songs come on the phone? or did you transfer them?

if they came on the phone .. itunes can't transfer them because you never owned them.. you can erase them and start your own lib..

in it, just to let me test the ipod function..

and as i wrote, i cant delete them.
i connect the iphone to the macbook,
itues recognizes it, but then i can do nothing.
it shows me the music installed in it, but
it in light-grey, so that i cant click on them..

maybe you'd want to start over with a fresh iPhone!? Then you can *restore* to 1.1.1 -> activate with ibrickr(windows) or independence(mac) than jailbreak with the *3001...-method -> install oktoprep -> *update* to 1.1.2 -> jailbreak with jailbreak.jar(mac) or windows.bat(win) -> install anysim 1.2.1u from installer

there you go with a fresh unlocked 112 phone

i have absolutely no idea how to do all that stuff.

and, if i upgrade to 1.1.2, will i need a *SIM or somethig
like that, or will it keep on beeing unlocked?

i guess i am gonna wait till i finally get my internet connection,
and then i am gonna try all that. but can i find somewhere
the 1.1.2? thought since 1.1.3 was released, apple wasnt
offering 1.1.2 anymore..

You don't need an *SIM because it does not have a 4.6bootloader.

Here is what you should do:

Restore to 1.1.1
-Download 1.1.1 ipsw file (google it)
-Put iPhone in DFU mode (hold down both buttons, when screen turns black, release sleep button but keep home button pressed)
-Connect to computer (with home button still held)
-When the connect to iTunes logo comes up, release home button
-In iTunes, hold down the shift button and hit the RESTORE button
-Select the ipsw file you downloaded earlier
-Wait for it to finish


Jailbreak
-Slide for emergency dial
-*#307# and hit call (iPhone will start calling itself)
-Erase all the text --> 0 and hit call
-Answer
-Hold
-Decline
-Contacts
-Add new
-Add new URL: prefs://
-Save contact
-Click the URL (prefs://)
-When at settings menu, go to WIFI, connect to your internet
-Hit back
-Go down and hit Phone
-At&T Services
-My Account
-Stop page from loading
-Enter Url: jailbreakm*.com (change * to e)
-Make sure iPhone is plugged in and click Install Appsnap
-Safari will crash, DO NOT TOUCH iPHONE
-iPhone will reboot, you will be left with a jailbroken 1.1.1


Unlock 1.1.1
-Go to installer
-Add repo: http://i.unlock.n0 (replace 0 with o)
-Refreshing sources
-Install --> Unlocking tools
-Install AnySim 1.1
-Reboot iPhone
-Settings --> General --> Autolock --> Never
-Settings --> Airplane Mode --> On
-Home --> Launch AnySim
-Slide, read terms and accept
-iPhone will be unlocked
-You will be left with a 1.1.1 Jailbroken and Unlocked iPhone.
