Question [1.1.1 OTB] Upgrading to 1.1.4 and Unlocking ?

im really new to all this unlocking stuff, i have a unlocked iphone running on 1.1.1 and i plan over the weekend to upgrade the firmware and run 1.1.4... But as ive said im a novice to all this so would you guys mind clearing some questions i have up on how to do it (i know theres numourous threads with how-to, but im still confused )

    Question 1:
My Iphone was originally unlocked via anySim and now i plan to use ziPhone to upgrade, am i right in saying that i need to restore via iTunes first and DONT install the firmware once its downloaded.

Then i run ziPhone and click "Do It All", which should take around 5mins?

    Question 2:
If i do accidently brick the phone will itunes restore "unbrick" it or will it me useless for ever

    Question 3:
Do i need to make a note/back up contacts while restoring (if so any recommened backup software for Mac)

    Question 4:
is there a version of itunes i need to use in order for ziPhone to work

Thats it (i think), once again thanks in advance

    1. Restore with iTunes
    2. iTunes does not unbrick. You'll be ok.
    3. Get TouchCopy first. For PC only, but there are others.
    4. The latest.

    1) Hit restore, itunes will ask you to check for the latest firmware, say yes and let it download and install the new firmware.
then run ziphone and do it all
    2) You'll be fine
    3) Not if your contacts are anywhere else than your phone. If itunes is syncing them to your mac then you will be able to sync them back to your phone once everything is done
    4) the latest works just fine, upgrade to it before you start

then... read this forum a little, there are a couple of minor problems like youtube might not be working, phone/sms might be crashing, camera might not be saving the pictures. There are fixes for everything in this forum, search and read if you notice any of these issues.
