Hi all,

Just for clarity, can someone please confirm the following process for me - I've trawled through various search results and am in danger of confusing myself!

I've got a week 42 1.1.1 OTB phone that has been upgraded to 1.1.2

At present it's running 1.1.1, 4.02.13_G (due to 1.1.2 upgrade) and the 3.9 bootloader.

I'd like to upgrade to 1.1.2 and utilise anySIM 1.2.1u to unlock. After trying 1.1.1 -> OkToPrep -> upgrade to 1.1.2 -> anySIM 1.2.1u it failed.

I'm planning on trying the following process out - is this the right approach?

Downgrade to 1.0.2 (Baseband will still be 4.02.13_G)
Activate & Jailbreak
Install BSD Subsystem
Add anySIM 1.2.1u to /Applications using WinSCP - setting perms. to 755
Restart phone
Airplane mode on
Run anySIM
Restart

That should get the phone working again in my opinion?

I can then upgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak/activate again?

Sorry to ask, but endless searches have given conflicting results.

Any pointers would be much appreciated!!

nope, use oktoprep in installer
then UPDATE back to 1.1.2
use the touchfree jailbreak
install anysim 1.2.1u
put iphone in airplane and set auto-lock to never
run anysim, restart and done

i need more info on the state of your iphone.
and you dont need to do all that.
it's simple.
if you are on 1.1.1 4.02.13 install anySim 1.2.1u but ese it in ariplane mode.
and the install oktoprep then upgrade to 1.1.2 and the jailbreack with this file

I've tried the update process described but to no avail.

Ran anySIM whilst on 1.1.1 (I'd read not to do it under 1.1.2?) in 'Airplane Mode' and it says 'anySIM is unable to unlock this phone'?

I'm wondering if I need to virginise and start again?

you're doing something wrong or missing something.
There is NO NEED to virginize. Don't do it.
Look at the sticky post at the top of the fourm by Number_41, in there, there is a link to Sasha's post to upgrade/unlock 1.1.1 to 1.1.2.
You need to oktoprep in 1.1.1 then upgrade to 1.1.2 the run anySIM 1.2.1

Due to my failed 1.1.2 upgrade the baseband was on 4.02.13_G so I used the BB Downgrader to go back to the 3.14.xx, restored 1.1.1 to get 4.01.13_G and then ran anySIM 1.1

Then the instructions noted in the upgrade/unlock 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 post worked first time
