Chill man! It has nothing to do with GUI or command line, it's the same fucking thing!!! Jesus!

His problem lies in the fact that iErase doesn't work for him. If he runs ziphone with the verbose mode '-v', he would see that iErase is stuck at the dreaded 'Waiting for data'. Of which, there is no known full proof solution.
