I bricked my iPhone (summerboard got stuck, using double taps back end functions are working) . I want to know if I can fix it without restoring, so far I haven't been able to.

As a last resort I'd probably have to restore and unlock agian. The problem with that approach is that I'm in a different country and I don't have EDGE or WiFi and to unlock 1.1.1 (by visiting jailbreakme.com).

I want to know if there is a way of accessing the internet using the hardline (maybe using the sync cable?)

And if you do, then use independence (on a mac) or idemocracy (pc)

but before you do that - I would try and reset your phone >> Settings >> General >> Reset >> Reset all Settings

I'd like to do the "Settings >> General >> Reset >> Reset all Settings" and it really should be that simple except I have no friking springboard to access the settings menu lol.

BTW is i possible to reset the settings through iTunes and not through the phone itself? If not is there a *307* type of code that I can plunk into the dailer (which I have access to by using the double tap feature) to access the settings menu?

All need to do is find another way to access the settings menu w/o using the springboard (which is pretty much crippled on my phone)

If I have no other option. Then I have to restore/unlock (which is a bit of a mission lol) but as I understand it if I use iDemocracy then I will be able to unlock w/o requiring either wifi or EDGE?

I need this solution too, cause my iphone 1.1.2 otb 04.02.13_G is now being able to connect wi-fi, so I can't go jailbreakme.com after downgrading to 1.1.1

Any other way to jailbreak without wi-fi?

Nor even downgrading even more?

I'm still having trouble Jailbreaking it with iDemocracy. It keeps asking me to go to jailbreak.toc3rta.com! but I don't have wifi/edge.

you can share the your hardline connection if your computer has wifi. check this guide for mac here.

Its basically similar for vista/xp. just create an ad hoc network from the network menu in windows.

Or you can use Iphuc to jailbreak 1.1.1. You can download the files from here (including iphuc) here. There is a readme file also attached in there.
