Hey everyone!

Been out of the scene for a while now I see all these guides for 1.1.3 with boot loaders 4.6.

I have an OTB 1.1.1 with BL 3.9 week 42 iPhone I unlocked it with anysim 1.1 and kept it like that ever since. I would consider myself knowledgeable when it comes to winSCP/putty/unix commands and so forth.

There's just way too much questions and answers when I try using search.

My question is what's the best method for someone with an OTB 1.1.1 BL3.9 to get 1.1.3 with everything working.

any side effects? example unable to find signal...unable to use google locate me...things don't work after reboot and so on...

any reply would be apprectiated!

Your best bet is Ziphone. Check zibri's blog and download it. Then sync your data, restore your phone to 1.1.3 and use the updated version of his ziphone to activate and jailbreak it. It's very easy. Then install BSD subsystem, AnySim 1.3 and unlock it. You'll be on 4.03 modem with 1.1.3 FW. No post-reboot signal issues reported. You can also upgrade to 1.1.3 instead of restoring, keeping your data, but restore seems the safest way... There's lot of info on ziphone here.. Just do NOT unlock with ziphone, it doesn't work for 3.9bl.
There's also a GUI from i.unlock.no based on ziphone if you don't like typing simple commands, but I don't know if its ziphone base is updated to the latest version.

I'm in the same situation. If we do a restore do we lose SMS messages ? The contacts & other data is easily sync'ed but I hear there are differences between SMS db in 1.1.1 and 1.1.3. Hence did not want to screw up SMS.db by just copying it over to the new 1.1.3 place

Well, that doesn't seem to be true: I just unlocked a 1.1.3 on BL with Ziphone, as there seemed to be virtually no other way anymore to unlock it any other way now. Oktoprep and Official 1.1.3 Upgrader have vanished from v. 3.5 Community Sources.

iphone.unlock.no is a wealth of info.

I was exactly the same as you last night (firmware/bl/etc) and did the upgrade with them.

So far, unlock.no has bailed me out of many upgrade/restore mistakes with his easy writing and examples.

His GUI spells out exactly what each checkmark option means.

Oh and Rogers changed it's SIM logo.
