i Know i'm supposed to get an Error, but read above... Not Error 1 or the Error 1604 - i never get that far, as to actually flash the phone, it simply won't

Know any solutions with that part?

It happenned to me last weekend. Restoring from standard DFU fails with error 1 if with 1.1.3.
Just put the iPhone into special DFU mode with ibrick 0.91. The iphone should turn the screen to white and then restore with itunes.

Make sure you enter DFU mode correctly. It should be a blank screen on iPhone after DFU mode. Connect iPhone to computer and open iTunes. Shift-restore to 1.1.1, and shift-restore to 1.1.1 again. Jailbreak 1.1.1 and update to 1.1.2, then jailbreak 1.1.2. If this process works, consider to downgrade the baseband by following the tutorial mentioned in other posts.

if your baseband is messed up will cause itune to read the phone wrong changing your modem firmware at time.

I had a similar problem a week ago. I redownloaded the .ipsw and everything went through perfectly. The key to knowing what's happening is being able to read the error message: error 1 almost always has something to do with the restore file because it pops up before itunes connects to the phone.

Hi, I have the same problem with my iPhone for 2 days now. I see that there are a lot of people that think they know something about iPhones, but in fact they know sh*t. The man told that he cant even start to restore the phone with iTunes, same thing happens to me. After putting it in DFU iTunes ask you to restore, and I do the Shift-restore, and after 5 seconds it gives the error 1.
Afterwards iBrickr can kick it out, but its still on 1.1.3
The only solution that sounds reasonable is th one to download a new version of the .ipsw file.
I will try this now and report later.

Have an iPhone 1.1.1 OTB, I have used 1.1.2 with for months now. Not long ago i used the 1.1.3 over-the-air upgrade, and it worked fine. Yesterday i used the installer to install a language pack, and then the famous "Restore iPhone" picture came up!

Please give me some advice... I have tried everything, but the baseband jammed and the iPhone forgot it's IMEI number and ICC!!

After that my only option was to run a iTunes Restore with the original Apple 1.1.3 software... Worked fine, and the Activationscreen came up, and it remembered it's ICC and IMEI number..... But now, none of the guides for downgrade work... It's basically the first step that doesn't work, because iTunes refuses to Restore with any packs but the original 1.1.3........ Have tried with 4 different old iTunes versions to restore the 1.1.1 software, but without luck! Every time in iTunes Error 01

If I install the old versions of iTunes, fx 7.4.2 - same error 01 with 1.1.1 restore, but another error when just pushing "Restore" and trying with default software.....

Anyone of the great forum have i clue? Really miss the iPhone A LOT!

    Thanks in advance.
