Hi guys,

Ok before i start let me just say i searched and i am still very confused. Im still running on version 1.1.1 and want to upgrade to 2.2 or the latest possible firmware. I have the older iphone btw. If someone can direct me to the correct page for tutorials or possibly any videos online, i would really appreciate it.

If it helps the phone was 1.0.2 and unlocked using anysim to 1.1.1

All you need top do is DFU restore to what ever firmware you want to upgrade to and use Quickpwn to unlock, jailbreak and activate the phone.

It will erase all your data.
Phone will initially be unactivated and locked, but Quickpwn takes care of this.

i did it many times like that

1. 1.1.1->>>1.4 connect itunes in [normal mode] , just [update] 1.4
2. connect itunes in [DFU mode] then [restore] 2.2
3. unlock jailbreak with quickpwn
