Hi,

I got a new iPhone 1.1.2 OOB.

I performed the downgrade to 1.1.1 in order to do JailBreak.

The problem is that after downgrading to 1.1.1 the WiFi option is disabled and I can't tap it.

On 1.1.2 the WiFi option is enabled and i can connect to my netwok but can't do the JailBreak on this version.

I tried everything i have no idea what else to do.

Note: also tried to downgrade to 1.0.2 but iTunes stuck on 'Waiting for iPhone'

You tried everything, but did you also try to read the forum posts about this? Wifi won't work while having downgraded to 1.1.1 imho, but downgrading to 1.1.1 is also just one step and you should re-upgrade after having prepared the phone on 1.1.1 (see for example this).

I didn't find any posts regarding this issue.

I actually used this guide in the first place, but as you can see in the guide the WiFi option should work after downgrade to 1.1.1 - you can't go any further before you complete this phase.

Dial *#307# and hit call

The iPhone will now start to ring itself, once it start to ring you have to erase *#307# by using the backslash button on your iphone and then type 0 and then CALL, the iphone will ring again and this time hit "Answer" then hit "Hold", the Phone will start to ring itself again, this time click "Decline".

Now on the screen you should be able to get to the contacts menu down the bottom, tap "Contacts" and then add a contact. Use the following instructions:


Add the Name "Testing" and tap save
Tap "Add URL" and type "prefs://1F" then tap save
Tap "Add URL" again and type "jailbreak.unlockthatiphone.com" then tap save

When this is done, tap "Save" again and it will take you to the contact page displaying the name "Test" and the two URLs you just added. Tap the "prefs://1F" URL and it will open the iPhone Settings page.

Tap "General" and Then "Auto-Lock", set it to "Never".

Go back to the settings page

From here, tap WiFi and Add your WiFi network and make sure you are connected to it

All these steps should be done on 1.1.1 but i Can't tap the WiFi option!

If there is a post about this issue I'll be more than happy to get a link to it.

Strange that the same thing happend to me and i´m now on the same situation, without Wi-Fi. It dissapeared after some short time of work in 1.1.2 with Stealth SIM. First i thought that i did something but no. I didn´t switched or installed nothing. Now i downgarded to 1.1.1 and did the Restore and Update to 1.1.2 again and situation remain same, NO WI-FI. Now i even can´t do the Jailbreak

Can you guys tell wich week your phones are? Mine is about to arrive and I am very concerning about this post.

Does someone think apple would have messed up the 1.1.1 image?

Mine is 1.0.2 OTB.
I had it upgrated and fully working in 1.1.2 but after a f***g downgrade the wifi disapeared for good......
Im in this situation for a month tried EVERY GUIDE AVAILIABLE ON THE INTERNET with no luck ....and im not the only one ....we are too many with the same f****g NO WIFI

Hmmm, i managed to downgrade to 1.1.1 and that´s all. I understand that with 1.0.2 we can use iBrickr to Jailbreak iPhone but it seems that it is impossible to downgrade the OTB 1.1.2 to 1.02

Just followed the guide, and suddenly I had no wifi...
There's nothing we can do about that? I feel really pised about that, after playing for 5 minutes with my iphone, I cannot do anything else..

I'm on the same boat. NO Wifi when I downgraded to 1.1.1 from 1.1.2 OTB phone. I've unlocked over ten phones without any problem. This one is the only one which has the problem. I've played with it for couple days following a lot of guides and no luck. The S/N of this phone is 83747*****. I can't even use it as an iTouch. Darnn
