I'm just wondering if Apple might change the "old" 1.02 Version which is needed and downloaded in order to change the OTB 1.12 BL. So, by "downgrading" to 1.02 there might be changes done to the BL so that it cannot be changed anymore.

To make it clearer: Is it safe to download the 1.02 from Apple?

Yes it is safe becuse the bootloader cannot be upgraded so you are safe to continue downloading the 1.0.2 from apple... but I would suggest that you download it and keep a copy for yourself as a backup..
