    Excellent Tut.

I want to suggest two things though.

First of all, update it so that the latest version of the Unlock GUI (anySIM) app is used. (i think it just a matter of replacing the .plx file that is uploaded to the iphone)

Second, at the end of the tut you should add a couple of steps concerning the replacement of the lockdownd file so that people dont have to reactivate every time they swap their SIM card.

Once i get my iphone (hopefully it will be here next week) ill run through your tutorial and snap pics along the way to upload them. (if of course there havent been any major advancements in the scene up to that point).

Also i was wondering why the IphoneDevTeam doesnt fix the unlock-app so that it patched lockdownd after it reflashed the baseband...that would probably save some time.
you already don't have to activate after replaceing sims... i have switched out my sim countless times and have never had to reactivate.

To answer the question about the dev team gui, i havnt had a chance to mess with it yet. I used the other one, and had all sorts of problems. i think when i get a chance to play around with it i will see how i like it, as for now, it only takes me about 15 minutes to unklock with my method, and i have no problems with anything working incorrectly.

    Hey Fercho,

it involves replacing the lockdownd file in one of the IPhone's directories.

In this way the phone will not need to be reactivated every time the user decides to switch SIM cards.

You can find more info in the above link on the procedure (its for OSX although its similar in windows and involves SFTPing a file over to the iphone).

Are you sure? Have you tried switching with another sim? (for instance a Vodafone SIM with a T-Mobile one?)

I've read many times that the phone will need to be reactivated if such a thing happens...

    Hi Carlos,

With your method what does step 7 do with APPTAP??

I have a NEW IPhone that I have brought from Box to activated status with iBrickr and PAYCAY only. So now I am in dilemna whether to risk going to try the SIM unlock. I am running latest 7.4 itunes and fw1.02 on my iphone. Ibrickr works, but I have not used it really to do anything except the initial jailbreak step.

Can I still follow your method after step 7 onwards? Should I take out the ATT sim at this point?

    THank

Hey Carlos! GREAT guide, however I am a little confused about something...sort of stuck.

At step 9 you say open ibrickr and click on "applications"

At what point has ibrickr been installed? I am throw off by this...

Ah ok. I had taken a look at the PAYCAY script and didnt notice that.

    So it all well then

Give the tut an upgrade to the new updater when possible

    Default can't find unload-fast.pxl

Carlos, In the current iBrickr applications list, I can only find AnySim, and IUnlock-vreloaded, but not unload-fast.pxl?

Did I get a wrong version of iBrickr?

    Thank you very much!
