Default [1.0.2] White text on the phone and Error 1012 in iTunes

    Hi,

I tried to restore my iphone and now i have two problems. The first is that I have white text going across my iphone screen when it starts up. The text ends up repeating the same message ( BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0) I think to get ride of that you must connect the iphone via usb and put it into duf mode and restore to 1.1.4 however when I do that I end up getting an error 1012 message. I have an iphone running on 1.0.2. Someone please help!!!!!!

    Default Full Story

Ok this is everything I can tell you thats been ever done to this iphone.

    1. iPhone background.
This is my mom's 4GB iphone that has very light use, It was unlocked and jailbroken OTB with Anysim 1.0.2 via ibrickr and had installer.app 3 on it. There was not other 3rd party software on it. It also had some songs and pictures on it.

    2. How everything went wrong.
I was trying to upgrade my moms unlocked, jailbroken anysim (ibrickr) iPhone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4. I've done this about a month ago with my own 8GB iPhone without any problems.

    3. Steps used to attempt upgrade.

FIRST - I went to installer and downloaded the virginizer tool. Then I installed it, which took about 10 min. After that my home screen refreshed but still looked the same, it still had the anysim and installer icons. However, this sim card was no longer recognized by the iPhone.

SECOND - I went and downloaded 1.1.4 from the internet and put it on my MAC desktop (it was not decompressed and I change it from a zip file to a ispw). Then I put the iPhone into DFU mode (Yellow triangle) and itunes told me iphone was in restore mode. I held down option key and clicked restore in itunes then I found the 1.1.4 file and clicked open.

THIRD - The restore did its thing for about 20 min and at the end I got a error (1012) message. However, when I unplugged the iphone it went to the PLEASE ACTIVATE screen. So I assumed the restore worked.

FOURTH - Next I got iLiberty+ and checked activate, jailbreak and unlocked and started the process. After about 30 min of nothing happening (status bar was stuck and iphone screen did nothing) I unplugged the iphone. All of a sudden the screen on the iphone goes black and I get the white text that I should have gotten during the jailbreak process. White letters will scroll down for about 10 seconds and then i get the same message repeating after that

    BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0
IT just repeats over and over.

FIFTH - I looked at some youtube videos and many people have had this message and the common fix was to restore 1.1.4 with I try to do but i keep getting error 1012.

    SOME IMPORTANT SIDE NOTES

I don't think I upgraded to 1.1.4 the right way because when in restore mode I still have the old yellow triangle and not the new itunes logo with the cable on the screen.

    I have never used Ziphone

Please if anyone knows how they you help me I would great appreciate it. I hope all the info helps. If I left anything out or something was unclear please ask. I will be check this thread constantly.

    dtube,

I think i read on some other post that you and another member are developing a virginizer method easier than the ones we have on the forum, can you confirm?

i believe that the major problem of 1.0.2 users that need to virginize is that some times installer does not work's properly and they cant intall either the virginizer files or any of teh tools they need

    @jsalva,
Actually we are not "developing" anything new. Basically me and volkspost are reviewing steps to put together a short instruction on virginizing. You can take a look at it here.

BTW, what kamil_canada is seeing ( BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0) is what volkspost have seen on 3 different phones as well. It only happens with iLibertyX on the MAC.

We don't know why, I guess we have to ask George Zhu or Aviegas about this.

This is correct !!!. No worry here.
The baseband has been wiped therefore you lost the unlock hence the SIM is not recognized

    sounds ok here ...

    Problem here !!
You should put the phone in DFU mode again and restore using firmware 1.1.4 again. What itunes version are you running? How about rebooting you MAC before you do this. This step has to be a clean restore before you can do anything else.

Let's get this part done correctly first before we do anything else.
