Default 1.0.2 with AT&T and jailbreak to 1.1.1?

I'm sure it's here somewhere, but darned if I can find it:

I have 1.0.2 jailbroken so I can have 3rd party apps but I'm still using AT&T -I never unlocked the phone. Can I restore to 1.0.2 and then upgrade to 1.1.1 if I want without risking any functionality?

    Thanks

Upgrading to v1.1.1 will be fine if you've never unlocked the phone. The only unlocks that create any issues are the iUnlock or AnySIM solutions, which require a patched firmware and write values to the iPhone's EEPROM (seczone) in such a way that the stock firmware can't deal with the results.

However, you will lose any and all functionality of third-party apps in v1.1.1. The v1.1.1 firmware has not yet been jailbroken, so any solutions that depend on this (which almost all do), will be rendered non-functional with v1.1.1 for the time being.

So, updating to v1.1.1 will give you a nice pristine v1.1.1 iPhone which will work fine on AT&T, but will not be compatible with any third-party applications at this point.

Thanks very much. I'm holding out because I really like the 3rd party apps. Hoping for a 1.1.1 jailbreak soon (as is everyone, I suppose).
