Carnaval is only available for Windows?

My iPhone was 1.0.2, I got a new simcard, since I changes operator, the new simcard did not work in my phone. My phone was initially opened using independence and anysim 1.0.2 in october 2007.

When I started it all, I tried to jailbreak my 1.0.2 phone to get a new verison of installer on it, so that I could virginize it, jailbreak failed, and left me with itgiving me a black screen with a scrolling code, and stopping and producint the same line of code over and over, BSD... something.

I panicked a bit, and saw no other option than to uppgrade to 1.1.4 in iTunes.

So after this I followed Volkspost giude how to virginize a 1.0.2 phone accidentally uppgraded to 1.1.4.

As it is now I can get it to work all parts of the iphone in 1.1.4, except the "phone" part.

Downgrading the baseband works, and downgrading to 1.1.1 works.

At 1.1.1 it tells me with a screen on the activation screen that my simcard is an invalid simcard, Itunes tells me the same.

iliberty jailbreak/activation on both windows and mac fail, leaving me with the same scrolling black code text screen that stalls in the same spot. Actually it never even gets as far as producing any text, it stalls with the itunes and dock cable logo, when I shut off the phone after a while of nothing happening, then I get the text, and has to reset the phone in itunes to 1.1.1 or 1.1.4.

Hi dtube, thx for jumping in again.
One more information. Bayerische ran into the iLiberty problem we have seen a few times for Mac users, not beeing able to use it for Jailbreak. The old 1.1.1-jailbreak *307... did not work. He did it all the way to the end, inclusing installation of AppSnapp but did not work.
He does have access to a Windows machine, I put together a short how-to for him. In iLiberty Windows he got stuck at "Booting Ramdisk". I have seen this before but cant recall where...
After he upgraded to 1.1.4 he downgraded baseband to the one that matches 1.1.1, then downgraded to 1.1.1.
Thats where he got stuck.

I you have an idea what to do on getting stuck at "Booting Ramdisk". There is a note at Georges blog on problems booting the ramdisk but this one seems not to apply here.
Your favourite solution might be the one to go for.

I sent the CARNAVAL 0.8 package to your personal email address. Read the readme.txt file. It's very easy to use. Let me know if you need assistance.
You may or may not have issue with itunes 7.6
If that is the case, uninstall it and put itunes 7.4 on the computer.

Carnaval did not work....

Any ideas of what can be done?

I have a new iPhone, but it would still be great to get it to work!

I have it once again back in 1.1.4 a´with a downgraded baseband.

When restored to 1.1.1 it fails to activate...

This does not make any sense to me at all.
You have 1.1.1 on the phone now and you cannot jailbreak+activate the phone using iLiberty, AppSnap, Carnaval - This is really crazy.

Exactly, when using iliberty for mac for instance it stalls when trying to jailbreak and activate. Leaving me with a crashed iliberty and the "connect to itunes" logo on the iphone screen.

To shut down iliberty I have to force quit...

Can't understand where the problem is...

Anyone that have skipped the virginize part of an 1.0.2 -> 1.1.4 update activation and unlock?

There are some people who have done so (skipping the virginizing part) but I wouldn't do it. Volkspost and I have talked about this and we agreed that it is much safer to do the virginizing part. Do you have another computer to try on ?... Do you remember the Carnaval error you got?

I've tried it on 3 different computers...

Carnaval was just something like "houston we have a problem..."

Can it be permanently turned into a brick if I would skip the virginize in 1.1.4?

If I would do so, I guess I shouldn't change downgrade the baseband before?
Just run the iliberty unlock?
