Is "invalid simcard operation is not allowed" the exact error message you get on the iphone screen?

It is supposed to go back to the screen that says "slide to emergency". Then - after a minute or so - it should restart automatically and show "Slide to unlock2 insted ang give access to the springboard then with Installer on it.

When it goes back to the activation screen it also goes dark after a few seconds...
One thing I noticed, in the tutorial, there is a "1" in the display after entering "0", in my display there is a "0" in the display while doing the 3001 activation...

Didn' t you set auto-lock to never as stated it step fourteen? After the activation screen is black and you hit the home button again, does it still say "slide to emergency"?
On that 0-1 thing
When i first tried this method a while ago, I missed one step sveral times and had no success. So I just wrote down the steps (copied into a text document) and followed.
Beginning
1. type *#307# then hit call. The iPhone should ring
2. While ringing tap the back arrow (right from the number) until its empty
3. dial 0 and then press call button
4. Press "answer" and then press "hold"
5. Phone should be ringing again, now press "decline"
Step 1-5 gave me a hard tim. But, on the other hand, on the end you can access the page of jailbreakme.com, right?

I see, you are on regular 1.1.1 with matching baseband but still unable to jailbreak/activate and get Installer on it.
Another question: do you have access to a Windows PC? I have seen the problems you run into just a few times - but always when using Macs.
