    Thanx jaka57 for reporting that it worked for you. Lets wait and hope it works for others also.
    @azzo
    Hope it will work for you after changing auto-lock to never also. It could also be that the freeze is being caused by something else.

    Hi!!!

    After setting the auto-lock to never it did not crash one time since yesterday.
    AND it survived the night and worked flawlessly in the morning..
    Seems to work now!!
    aakash.goenka thank you very much!!
    Did your phone crash one time since changing the settings?

    Bye Azzo

    @Azzo
    Yes, it crashed today morning because just for seeing what happens, I had changed auto-lock to 1 minute yesterday night. Did not crash on any other occasion. Lets hope your phone does not crash anymore.

    But you know what, if this is the solution, there are still a few doubts left about the problem-

    -> Why does restore solve problem for a day or so?
    -> Why is phone a bit more stable without SIM card?
    -> Why does it come up after some heavy usage? (Not in all cases)

    @tepbd59
    Hows your phone now? Is it still crashing?

    yeah it still won't boot up. Last night I even restored it to 1.1.1 in dfu mode but no luck. I'll probably try again tonight.

    After you restore, I think settings also restore and auto-brightness changes to on which I think causes all problems. I had the similar problem as you are having.

    After restoring, my phone would not boot up, stuck at apple logo. I left it off for full night, switched on next day and it worked. You can try that and when it comes to life, try changing auto-brightness to off and auto-lock to never and see if the crashing problem stops.

    @maffy
    Did you try this solution(auto-brightness off)? If yes, did it work for you?

    I dont think you have any other option as of now!

    If you are in US you could revirginize and go to apple store. But then, for the warranty, I have heard that you must have activated the iPhone with AT & T which I dont think you have.

    You could go without auto lock. Only that you would have to lock it every time with the button. Come on, a working iPhone without auto lock and auto brightness is much better than a perpetually crashing iPhone ! lol

    well, i restored my phone with 1.1.1 and all things are fine now. it is hard for me to believe that this iPhone freezing problem is caused by the auto brightness/auto lock buttons. in my case it must surely be the customize.app which messed up my icons. maybe the customize.app itself recked my phone, or in combination with another application. i came to find out that in some circumstances if you combine some applications on the same phone u'll get a broken software. soo...this is all i did, restored with 1.1.1. i am more than sure that as long as i don't install this customize.app again nothing bad will happen. i will report here if not! bye guys
