Well, Azzo I think my problem is different from yours. Your phone at least boots in a minute or so. My phone, on the other hand does not boot till even an hour. Sometimes is starts up in few minutes, but mostly it takes above half an hour for it to startup

I would
1) downgrade firmware and baseban to 1.0.2
2) virginize 1.0.2 via big boss virginizer
3) either:
3a) jailbreak / activate with apptapp and PACAY - then unlock 1.0.2 via anysim 1.1
OR
3b) upgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak / activate via jailbreakme.com then unlock via anysim 1.1
I would then leave it alone for a week or so to check for stability
@bezman I had done precisely the above steps. I originally had a 1.0.2 phone. It used to hang, so I updated to 1.1.1 after following steps 1,2,3b However, as I have mentioned in my first post, it worked well for some days and again the freezing problem reappeared.

wow hmmm - well this time do not isntall summerboard, and remove ssh, bsd subsystem etc, and see how the phone works. (even remove installer app if you want) - i would also update to 1.1.1, then restore it a couple times if it is you want 1.1.1 - i would also go in a remove any created dir's like ROMS for NES, apollo com...plist files and other files and folders that are all over the file system from apps you are not using...

Thanks for your suggestion. But, I had deleted the folders of apps which I had not been using. I did not have NES though.
My phone now, does not boot. Previously it used to take half-an hour or so. But now, it just wont budge from the startup apple logo. So, I decided to force it into restore mode, I did not have another option. The phone would not boot, iTunes would not detect it. Once I put in recovery mode, iTunes detected it. I tried to restore with 1.1.1 firmware which I had previously installed. Process went smoothly, at last the phone was to reboot. Then again, instead of booting, apple logo comes and it just does not start. Someone please help!

Well okay.. But in 1.0.2 I had exactly the same problem like you...
Even with the little circle in the middle of the apple logo whick appeared sometimes.
I just noticed something!!
I put out my SIM Card and the phone worked flawlessly one whole day including the night. With the SIM Crad it is stuck on a black screen when I try to put it back from sleep mode after some hours of stand-by mode. It seems to be faster without SIM-Card, too.
Maybe this can help someone to find a solution..

Yeah, even I had noticed that. I often tried without SIM card and yes, it was indeed faster. Thanks for the suggestion. Lets hope someone gives some proper and permanent solution for the freeze problem. I hope its not something to do with hardware, coz I am from India, with no access to spare parts for iPhone. By the way, in your 1.1.1(updated from 1.0.2) phone, it reboots properly after freeze with SIM card inserted?

I jailbreaked with http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com But I dont think that matters, because the problem was there in 1.0.2 also.

Yesterday it crashed 4 times within 20 minutes..
Will report the results after testing it a bit longer
Bye bye Azzo

I am using without sim now. Restored with 1.1.1. It is working comparatively better. But it still hangs sometimes. I did not load anything to the phone, no apps, songs, contacts, videos, nothing. By the way, in 1.1.2 is your phone unlocked? I would also update to 1.1.2 if it is stable for sometime and unlocked in your phone.

Hi! Yes it was still unlocked.. And really easy.. (I have an IPSF unlocked phone)
You only have to replace the lockdownd file..
But be careful cause some people reported that their phones were crashing when they atempt to dial a number.. Like I understand it works only in countries which are officially offering the iPhone. But I'm not sure about that. There are already threads about this topic..
BTW my phone still works without one crash!!!
I hope so much that it works like it should now...
Bye bye Azzo
