Thanks again. Installer = installer.app ? if you mean that isntaller then, no. I guess my iphone was just unlocked and activated, althought it might be jailbroken already but there is no Installer. I am running windows. Tried running iLiberty, does not do anything. When i use the "jump out of recovery" feature i get the "BSD Root: md0, major 2, minor 02"error.

Strange, but that guide says that my routine should actually look like this :

    1. Goto "Settings->General" set "Auto-Lock" to "Never"
--> Skip Step 2 - 4 if you have Installer on the iPhone
    2. Start iLiberty+ (Windows) or iLibertyX (Mac)
    3. Select "Jailbreak" and add payload "Installer" and click go for it. This will put installer version 3.01 on the phone
    4. Installer may want to update to version 3.11. You may do this or stay at 3.01

--> If you experience iLiberty not able to Jailbreak and end with looping "BSD Root: md0, major 2, minor 02" on the iPhone, DFU restore to 1.1.4 and continue at "Detour 1"
    Detour 1
You had to quit iLiberty, cause jailbreak did not work even after 10 Minutes. iPhone restarts, scrolls text and end with looping "BSD Root: md0, major 2, minor 02". DFU restore the iPhone to 1.1.4 in iTunes and start from step 1. Instead of step 2 - 4 use the following steps:

You have to get the iphone out of the looping "BSD Root: md0, major 2, minor 02". To do so:
    1. Disconnect iPhone from your PC/Mac if not done already.
    2. Hold Power/Sleep and Home until the iPhone shuts down. Put it aside.
    3. Start iTunes on your PC/Mac and make sure to have the latest version. If not, upgrade.
    4. On the iPhone press Home button and keep holding it while connecting the iPhone to your PC/Mac.
    5. Keep holding Home button until iTunes finds the iPhone in recovery mode. Restore to 1.1.4.

Then continue with the Detour 1.

    1. Open Package (folder) "AppTapp Installer", in there open "Contents/Resources/". Even though the downloaded version is for Mac OS, this works same on Windows, it's just a package. On Windows it looks like a folder, on Mac ctrl-klick on AppTapp Installer and choose "Show Package content)
    2. Connect to iPhone with SFTP (WinSCP on Windows, Fugu/Cyberduck on Mac)
    3. Copy Installer.app from your Mac/PC (it's in Contents/Resources/) to /Applications on the iPhone and chmod to 755
    4. Restart iPhone (shut off with red slider)
    5. Start Installer on the iPhone
    6. I had "script execution error" on updating Installer to 3.0 (you have to)
I had to SSH into the iPhone (Putty on Windows, Terminal on Mac) and type
    cd /Applications
    chmod -R 755 Installer.app
    chmod 6755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
    7. Restart iPhone (shut off with red slider)
    8. Start Installer app, you have to upgrade to Installer 3.0.
    9. After restarting Installer it offers to upgrade again, Don't do it. This dialog will pop up several times again, just ignore
    10. Continue with step 5
It basically illustrates the situation that I'm currently in, no ?

OK, here we go. We need to get you to firmware 1.1.1 and do the virginizing from there, will be working.

    1. Get the firmware file 1.1.1, here is a link to all firmware files
    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22056

    2. The method I mentioned to get out of "BSD.....". Do this one but then you restore to 1.1.1, not to 1.1.4.

    3. When done goto
    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42046
and start at step 12 and follow all the steps. In step 14 just select Jailbreak and Activate in the main window of iLiberty and do not forget to select the two payloads for BSD Subsystem and Installer, you will need both!!!

No, you are in the middle of nowhere cause you cant get out of recovery mode. The complete tutorial is for users that already upgraded to 1.1.4 without virginizing. We have to get you almost in the middle of the tutorial, where you restored to 1.1.1. From there we can virginize and later restore to 1.1.4

dont push the process, please read and then carefully do step by step and it will work.

Just take your time and NEVER interrupt the process of virginizing. Dont rush and you will be fine.

One more last question, just to make sure.

    2. The method I mentioned to get out of "BSD.....". Do this one but then you restore to 1.1.1, not to 1.1.4.
    method refers to :
    Goto
    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42046
and jump in at step 14. the thread is another solution but beginning at step 14 it's working for you.

OK, thats the complete way for you to get out of "BSD....":

You have to get the iphone out of the looping "BSD Root: md0, major 2, minor 02". To do so:

    5. Keep holding Home button until iTunes finds the iPhone in recovery mode. Restore to 1.1.1

It's important, that you restore to 1.1.1.

Then (extract custom made for your case):
    1. Quit iTunes and start iLiberty
    2. For Jailbreak, Activate, get Installer on the 1.1.1 iPhone using iLiberty you have to:
    3. select JB/ACT and add payload BSD and Installer in iLiberty and hit "Go for it then. Let iLiberty do its job
    4. When done, quit iLiberty for now and on the iPhone you MUST set Auto-Lock to "never" again!!!!!!!
    5. Make sure you have Wi-Fi/Internet-access and add i.unlock.no to sources and refresh.
    6. Update Installer will pop up, just IGNORE it
    7. Start Installer, goto "Unlocking Tools -> The Virginizer" and hit "Install"
    8. Virginizing takes 10 minutes NEVER interrupt!
    9. After its done, immediately restore to 1.1.4 in iTunes, "setup as new phone", not "from backup"
    10. Use Pwnage or iLiberty to jailbreak/activate/unlock your iPhone

Hmmm, it seems that im stuck again, i restored the fw to 1.1.1 and received error 1015 this time. iLiberty kicked out of recovery mode. And now when i'm trying to JB/ACT with payloads, iLibery hangs on "booting ramdisk...". Should i try again with DFU mode? or might it be because of i'm running x64 vista ?

Ok, give this one a try. Leave iTunes open, just "park" it in the task bar. Start iLiberty then, select the payloads and hit "go for it". It should pop up a window saying something like "We are going to boot device...". Do what it says (deisconnect the iPhone, then reconnect and then hit the ok button). Should work then.
