Default 1.0.2 (1.1.2 OTB) 4.6_M3S2 - Got it unlocked once!

    Hi there,

got my new iphone yesterday and after reading a lot of guides i started testing. The iphone should be an unlocked version, but it wasn't possible to get the installer on it. I didn't test it with my SIM, but i could use internet and all the other preinstalled stuff.

Then i started the downgrade process. Made it to 1.0.2, activated and jailbreaked it successfully with iNdependence.

I could use every SIM card with it BUT, WiFi was gone, cuz the baseband was wrong now (04.02.13_G).

Started to update again and woooops: I got a locked iphone, beautiful piece of trash.

Then i downgraded it again to 1.1.1 and activated it. Finally i could install 3rd party software but the iphone is still locked. I assume that I could unlock it again, if I downgrade to 1.0.2 and if i virginize it before, WiFi should also work or am i wrong?

If i understand the postings everywhere right, it shouldnt be possible to do what i've done.

The iphone was meant to be unlocked from the start (unfortunately i didnt test this), but with the downgrading process, it should be locked again (or not?) and i'm wondering, why i could unlock it at 1.0.2. If i had understand the guides at first sight, i would never have tested this, but now i'm curious if i have somehow found something crucial.

I'm not in the hacking department, but if i can be of any help, let me know. Oh and i used ITunes 7.4.2 (Mac-Version).

well 1.1.2 are not software unlockable at all so what youve been trying to do is pointless, you need to downgrade to 1.1.2 and follow this:
    http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15849
then use a hardware unlock, such as a turbosim

Little bit confused by what you have written. Am i right in saying you have jailbroken your iPhone, then up / downgraded it, and had to jailbreak it again?

You haven't managed to use the phone features (calls, text voicemail etc, for obvious reasons), but all other features are OK, with numerous SIM cards?
    - 1.1.2 OTB iPhone (BL 3.9)
    - 1.1.3 Installed
    - Unlocked using AnySIM 1.3
    - GPRS active
    - Visual voicemail not available

Huge "Thank You" to all those involved in jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone and for dedicating your time and patience. Keep up the good work!

@pgilder: can you tell me then, how it could be that i could unlock the iphone? i really had it already done, but WiFi was broken, because i had the wrong baseband.

I got an unlocked iphone (at least they told me so, didn't test the phone features before downgrading, cuz i wanted the installer on it, but i could use internet and everything without any problems before the downgrade (no SIM inserted).

I downgraded it then from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1. and then to 1.0.2. and jailbreaked it. Inserted the SIM card and could use the phone! Thats what i'm wondering about, because everyone says, that's not possible.

So far I didn't test the jailbreak again, because i know that WiFi will not work then. I will test to virginize it, before i jailbreak it again. But perhaps i make an error in reasoning?

    You don't seem to understand: you can't unlock a 1.1.2 OTB/bl 4.6 phone. Period.
The fact that it worked with WiFi trashed surprises me but whats the point of having an iPhone without WiFi anyway?!

Before you completely trash your phone, just let it go and wait until a working hack is available.

yeah dude, your phone is still unlockable, it has the old bootloader, i dont know why youd go from 1.1.2 to .1.1.1 to 1.0.2, 1.1.1 is stable and the easiest way to unlock. maybe you dont know the difference between unlock/jailbreak, if i were you and wanted to fix your phone, re upgrade to 1.1.2., down grade to 1.1.1 and use the tutorial, the only reason why i would upgrade to 1.1.1. 1st is so that your wifi may be saved, boner

Just to clearify i have a week 43 1.1.2 OTB Iphone with BL 4.6.

Tried it again. Installed 1.1.1 and jailbreaked it. Installed 3td party tools. Anysim didnt work (naturally) so phone was still locked. I used BBInfo: BL 4.6.

I downgraded it to 1.0.2 and used independence 1.2 to unlock it. After 5 tries the phone was activated and unlocked again (no WiFi).

Do i have some special phone or how can it be that mine is unlockable (phone features working without contract with any SIM)?
