Default 1.0.2 to 1.1.2 how? is it possible?

I know people might slate me saying i need to search, but i can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Basically i'm on 1.0.2 & would be interested in upgrading to 1.1.2.

In simple terms what would i need to do first? upgrade to 1.1.1?

Would i need to re-activeate the phone??

    Thanks

I've been keeping my eye on these forums for weeks but I agree that it's not easy to figure out which solution is the best/easiest. I also have an unlocked 1.0.2 iPhone and want to upgrade to 1.1.2 but I'm waiting to find out the most foolproof way to do this. I suppose once the Dev Team comes out with AnySIM for 1.1.2 I will have to revirginize, update, and use AnySIM to unlock.

the unofficial method is out tho, anysim 1.2 by iPhone Elite team. all u hv to do is virginize ur 1.0.2, update to 1.1.1, jailbreak it using any method u like( i would recommend jailbreakme.com) and unlock it using anySim 1.1, then follow the tutorial on the forum to prep ur 1.1.1 for 1.1.2 update. then use the jailbreak1.1.2 pack from the dev team to jailbreak it. ur all set
    ;-)

stop ! you are fucking up with bad/wrong advice !!! (realise : thousands of people are reading this, taking it for granted, and might end up in a mess, so if you post something ,know what you say/write !!!!)

if you're on 1.02 : run VIRGINISER from installer first
if you want to go to 1.1.2, you FIRST have to go to 1.1.2 to have the new 4.12 baseband installed
downgrade to 1.1.1 in order to run anySIM 1.2.1(u) (and not 1.1 as you suggest !)
before going back to 1.1.2 : under 1.1.1 run Oktoprep

straight after that : upgrade to 1.1.2 and do the newest jailbreak
copy patched lockdown, appsupport, fix the MCCMN issue (your local carrier issue/.plist), and you're done

all thsi is i nthe treads i ndetail, go look for it

Patvg, thanks for the summary! It still sounds too complex for me though—any chance if I wait an easier solution will come along? I suppose the risk is that by the time an easier solution does come along, the next update will be out (with features I want, perhaps) and I'll be in the same position again.... such is the fate of an unlocker.

P.S. Even if I wanted to try this solution, I don't have "Virginizer" listed in Installer!

    1.0.2>update 1.1.1> jailbreak/oktoprep>1.1.2>jailbreak/unlock
