I use the first version listed in iBrickr 0.9.1 in the Application list, I think it's about 2 weeks old. I don't remember the version number, but I think that doesn't matter.

Might be!
But what happens if you run "ieraser" now? Afaik you have to stick to the right order, so first run "bbupdater -v", then "ieraser" and afterwards the bbupdater with firmware flash.

Hey there, when I run bbupdater or ieraser, I get the error "zsh: permission denied: bbupdater".
Any ideas? (I'm having the same problem as you, exactly the same problem.)
Okay, I'm stupid and did the chmod command wrong. In any case, I did everything that I was supposed to do, and still it won't work. It seems as if I can't seem to delete commcenter.

man this is odd, I run the terminal Version svn113, the only one that doesn't kick me out after 3 characters, ive used it before but it didn't act like this.
i types really slow, then when I get to the CommCenter it inserts some characters and doesn't let me type it normally.
whenever i use the newest version of the mobile terminal i get to 'lau' and its gone.
i do the chmod +X ieraser, then ieraser and it can't write, bbupdater can't ping the baseband because the commcenter is in use. any other way to shut it off besides "launchctl remove com.apple.CommCenter"??

Okay, let me go over what I did. The most recent terminal and BSD subsystem are installed. My phone has no wifi, no music, no ICCID, no IMEI, etc.
I CD'd to /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/, then ran the command to remove commcenter.
I then restarted the phone.
I CD'd to /usr/bin, ran chmod +x on ieraser and bbupdater. When I ran bbupdater -v, I was again told "commcenter failed to initialize" or whatever. Any help?

man we are in the same boat. You installed them thru ibrickr right? only those 2 programs correct?
I am having the exact same issue, what happens when you run the command to remove the commcenter, then dont restart the phone, do the chmod, then run the bbupdater?
i'm having issues with my stupid mobile terminal, i type 3 characters then it kicks me out, the only version i can get to work with it is the svn113.
try that and let me know man, i'm working in the same situation as you.

Just tried that. I still get the "failed to initialize comm layer" error.

dude, i just read another post from someone earlier in this thread. Ok go into system/library/launchdaemons/ and just delete com.apple.commcenter.
restart the phone, then you dont have to worry about it gettin in the way
NOTE make sure to back it up, as the poster says you'll have to put it back when you'are done
i'm updating my baseband now (i'll let you know if it works, it was erased already, so ieraser wouldve been useless)
give that a shot

I did delete it, yet when I go in through iBrickr it still appears to be there, and I'm still having all the same problems. I CD'd into that directory and typed in the command to delete it.
