Default [1.0.1 OTB] upgrading to 1.1.4 > Should I still need to virginize?

I thought I'll ask seeing as how the unlocking ways evolved so much since those good old days. With Zibri soon establishing dictatorial leadership over the world and all and GEO running the underground movement. (I'm with GEO).

My girl is still on 1.0.1 and doesn't want to switch but I think I might just give her a quick upgrade, so I wanted to know if it'l be a 10 minute task or a 45 one.

    Cheers,

    Depends on the unlocking method.

    How did you unlock it?
First ever Apple product I bought : iPhone.

I suggest you to do it, download from i.unlock.no repo remember to set to AutoLock to never before even downloading it from installer.

Their method of virginizing does not seem to exist any more. In Installer.app there is no "Unlocking Tools" category and I cannot find a "The Virginizer" or "Virginizer" program. HELP!!!!

    UPDATE:
This tutorial walked me thru how to do it

Have you added http://i.unlock.no/ as a repository?

I never did reverginize my unlocked iphone (using anySim) version 1.0.1. I upgraded straight to 1.1.4 and unlock with ziphone (do it all option), and it works just like a charm. Be sure you set up as new iphone on your itunes after upgrade to 1.1.4 and unlock. Hope this help!!!!

Thanks for the help guys. i'm all set now. It had been so long since I hacked my phone that I thought the Virginizer would just show up in Installer.app. I didn't know what was meant by repository and the posts I read rarely even mentioned it.

viettho I'm glad it worked for you without revirginizing, I didnt want to take a chance so I did it anyway. A few people mentioned setting up the iPhone as new afterwards, why? What are the benefits of doing so and what are the problems if you don't? I just had it re-install settings from the name I gave my iPhone and everything is all set like I had it. Should I redo all that and start with a new name?
