I know, it is a well described problem and hope not to bother anybody but I can't get rid of this f*cking 0049 problem. This phone is really bullheaded.

It was out of the box 1.1.1 - so no problem. I activated and unlocked it with anySIM 1.1 but got an "unstable network" after. The monitor (little bars) were fluctuating and calls didn't get through so I restored it with FW 1.1.1

Since than I have the 0049-IMEI crap. I try restore / virginize and ericas unlock methode. Nothing works - still 0049 in every firmware (I try 1.0.2 and 1.1.1)

Is there a method that I overlocked. This guides neither worked for me:

Sounds like you either didn't unlock with 1.1, or there was a previous attempt to unlock it that didn't go so well...

If you are still having problems with this, give me a PM, I should be able to help you out.

This is what I do in this situation:

-Downgrade FW to 1.0.2
-Downgrade Baseband to 3.14.xx
-Unlock with AnySIM 1.0.2 (you can stop here if you want to)
-Virginize
-Restore to 1.1.1
-Jailbreak and Unlock with AnySIM 1.1

You need to pull out the SIM. I mean no SIM card during the process.

Retry it

Seems to work with my sim in the phone.At least worked twice for me

iphoneblog is not a noob. You will know some phones will not work with that solution.

They are called zeroed loader BB or big damage imei

Otherwise I'm really hopeless to solve it. Downgrade to 1.0.2 and Virginize works so well. I tried virginizing with scripts and by hand via terminal. Always the same results.

-> Restore/Virginize gives success-note but 0049 is still there ???

After downgrade to 1.0.2, revirginize, you should use anySIM 1.0.2 to unlock. Hope it is OK.

I can confirm, that this doesn't work for me!! I got an minicom-error.
