Well, If you need to backup your iPhone to new Mac computer, you can use iTunes program, when you open launch iTunes, there is a backup option on the main panel, just click the backup buttons, but this kind of backup file is a unreadable file format, you can read or edit it directly, but if you need to view or edit your file via computer, you need to use third party app to export all of your iPhone data to personal computer.

Well, try Amacsoft iPhone to Mac transfer. You can use it to backup iPhone file to Mac in 2 steps. I often use it to transfer iPhone songs to Mac, have a try, good luck!

Your iPhone automatically backs up all it's data to iTunes when you plug it in to your Mac or PC. This back up data is locked and you can set a password by scrolling down in the "Summary" tab and checking the "Encrypt iPhone Backup Box" and set a password. All your data (Music, Movies, Apps, Contacts, Photos) etc. will be in your iTunes libraries and on file (just in case you lose or somehow delete your data) and it will always be there with your input of a password. Besides the Music on your device, you can't add anything else on a CD.

That is actually a pretty simple procedure. SEOSENVY has explained it better than I ever could, though. Still, if you have everything on an external harddrive, it's pretty safe, but you still want to have it in a second place in case something happens to it.
